Lesson Plan in the Reading 2 (Four Pronged Approach)

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to:

A. Define difficult words trough context clues;

B. Identify the significant details and events in the story;

C. Use the correct form of noun in a sentence;

D. Recall and organize event using graphic organizer;

E. Sketch a caricature and enact the following characters feelings or emotion.

II. Subject Matter: The Ant and the Grasshopper

Reading Skills: Using context clues

Note significant events

Identify the setting, character, conflict, and ending of the


story

Draw a flowchart and write the action of the character in the


story

Draw a caricature of the ant and the grasshopper based on


the given situation

Grammar Skills: Use the proper form of singular and plural noun in a
sentence.

Writing Skills: Make a list of noun using graphic organizer

Materials: Manila paper, pictures, envelope, crayons

1. Vocabulary Development

The pupils will read a sentence. They will choose the correct meaning of the
underlined word from the given choices.

Choose the correct meaning of the underlined word or phrase, write the letter on your
reading 2 notebook.

1. What did the ant do during summer days?

2. Why the ants need to store food during the summer day?

3. Who would you want to be like the ant or the grasshopper? Why?

D. Values Integration

Just like the ant who always prepare for their future, we should follow that
example. Just as a quote said, work today for you will need tomorrow.

2. Engagement Activity

The teacher will group the class into 4 groups. Each group will be given an
envelope containing the instruction of what they will going to do.
Each group will choose a leader.

Character Caricature

Identify the character in the story. Imagine how the ant and the grasshopper
would look. Based on the given situations, sketch the details on the face of the following
caricatures of the characters of the story to show how they felt. Then, enact what they
did and said at that moment.
Presentation of the Lesson

1. The teacher will show a picture of a person, places, things and animals.

2. The pupils will organize the pictures inside a web graphic organizer.

Draw a web organizer on your notebook. Complete it by filling the bubbles with
examples of the four kinds of noun mentioned in the web.

Noun- are words used to identify any of a class of people, places, things,
and animals, or to name a particular person, places, things, and animals.
There many form of nouns, one of which is the singular form and the plural form of
noun.
5. When do we say the noun is singular?
A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or animals.
6. When do we say the noun plural?
A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing, or animals.
7. How do we make singular noun, plural?
Simply by adding an s, es, or ies at the end of the word.
