It is our own mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us.

Our thoughts
make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own
minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.

Swami Vivekananda

Peace in the sky, peace in the mid-region, peace on the

earth, peace on the waters, peace of the universe, peace of
peace, may that peace come to us.
Rig Veda

He restrains his friend from committing sins, and induces him to

do good deeds. He conceals the unseemly secrets of a friend,
projecting only his good qualities. He does not desert his friend in
difficulties, but gives timely assistance. Saints describe these as the
characteristics of a true friend.

ABOUT MANKUTHIMMANA KAGGA

Mankuthimmana Kagga is one of the most famous and popular major

literary works in Kannada, composed by Dr. D. V. Gundappa ( known by
the name D V G), and published in 1943. It is widely regarded as a
masterpiece among the Kannada speaking population in India. The title
of this work can be translated as "Song of Mankutimma". Kagga is a
beautiful and profond collection of 945 poems (Each poem is a four-
liner). Some of the poems are in old Kannada style (halegannada).
Kagga's poems are profound, yet poetical. Most of the songs can be
sung.
Life without goodness, good thoughts, good
actions and good words is like the sky in the night

without the moon or stars. It is like a wheel

without a hub or spokes! No one can push a
boulder away while standing on it; you cannot be
free from anxiety while all the entrances through
which it sneaks in are open.

Atharva Veda

maitri-karuna- muditopeksanam
sukha-dukha-punyapunya-vishayanam bhavanatas chitta-prasadanam

Patanjali Yoga Sutra

(Friendship, mercy, gladness, and indifference, being thought of in regard to subjects
that are happy, unhappy, good, and evil respectively, shall pacify the Chitta.)

The way of devotion is not different from the way of knowledge,

or Jnana. When intelligence matures and lodges securely in the
mind it becomes wisdom. When wisdom is integrated with life and
becomes action it becomes Bhakti. Knowledge when it becomes
fully mature is Bhakti. To believe that Jnana and Bhakti,
knowledge and devotion, are different from each other is
ignorance.
