1.

Tell me about yourself

My name is Luigi Cabrera. I am 17 years old, a Grade 11 student of PAREF Southridge

School. I grew up in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. I am an only child to parents who are both lawyers. I
have an excellent knowledge about world history. I am really involved in three activities that I enjoy
and spend a lot of time on during my free time. First, I am involved in sports. I like playing soccer,
badminton and basketball ,strategic games like chess and Game of the Generals. I have been
playing various sports since I was 5 years old. Second, I love watching anime series because their
story lines are interesting. Third, I like drawing my favorite soccer and basketball players, and also
my favorite anime characters because drawing them sharpens my creative side. I am really an
energetic person and a real self-starter because I love being independent and I love to think of new
ideas all the time. I have worked hard in my grade school and high school education to prepare
myself to become a world class lawyer in the future. I took the opportunity to get the ABM Course
in Sourthridge for my Senior High School Specialization. I want to pursue a degree in Business
Management at the Ateneo de Manila University because I think a background in Business
Management is the best stepping stone for me to be a lawyer someday.

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses? How have you addressed them?

In my 17 years of existence, I realized that I have much strength. One strength that I have is
that I am proficient in written and oral communication skills. I am excellent in making written reports
and I make sure that I can express my opinion well. I also have a good problem solving skills. I
have usually been commended because I can think of out-of the-box solutions to problems
encountered. I am also an independent worker. I can work and finish tasks with little to no
supervision at all. I am also great at adapting to the changes. This strength has benefited me
greatly as a student because changes are inevitable at school especially with the schedule. Aside
from all these strengths I mentioned, my greatest strength is my reliability. People know that they
can trust me to deliver earlier than the deadline what I say I will do. I stay focused on what I do to
finish them earlier than required. I don't get easily distracted so my focus allows me to beat the
deadlines given to me successfully.

I am just a person so I also have some weaknesses. One weakness that I have is that I find
it difficult to multitask. I give too much focus to the current task I am working on so I find it difficult to
perform on any interruptions or any things that suddenly come up. I think my greatest weakness is
that I tend to get excited to tell stories because I am an extrovert type of person. I am trying to
address this weakness by controlling my excitement to share my opinion so that I can give
everyone a chance to speak. I have realized that by giving them a chance to speak, they can share
a lot of great ideas.

3. What do you expect to be doing 10 years from now?

My goal right now is to be able to be accepted in the Business Management degree

program at the Ateneo de Manila University where I can grow as a student and so that I can take
new challenges that will help me grow to be a better person. 10 years is a long time, and many
things can happen in that span of time. But I am the type of person who is driven to be what I want
to be and to do what I want to do. 10 years from now, I will be 27 years old. By that time, I would
already be finished with a degree in Business Management at the Ateneo de Manila University. By
26 years old, I would already be finished with my Juris Doctor Degree at the Ateneo Law School.
By 27 years old, I would just be finished taking the Bar exam and would successfully pass it. Being
a lawyer, just like my parents, is my childhood dream, and I would persevere in the next succeeding
years just to fulfill my dream.
So, 10 years from now, I would be happily reaping the fruits of the labor I have been sowing
since my grade school years. I would realize how fulfilling it is to finally reach your life long goal to
become a lawyer. 10 years from now, I would finally start building my career as a corporate lawyer
by working in a law firm and gaining experience to mold me to become the best corporate lawyer of
my generation and eventually help my dad run his law firm.
10 years from now, I would also be a better version of myself. I would be more cheerful and
more optimistic towards life. I would also succeed in overcoming my weakness by being able to
focus even when there are things that suddenly come up. I would learn to be the better version of
myself by joining some university organizations during my college years and Law school years.
Everything that I will experience in the span of 10 years will help me be the better version of myself.
