Eligibility
• Rebates for ENERGY STAR qualified electric heat
pump water heaters are available to BGE residential
electric customers regardless of energy supplier.
• Limit one rebate per qualified electric heat pump
water heater, per BGE residential electric account, on
purchases made beginning April 22, 2010, while funds
are available. Rebates are provided on a first-come,
first-served basis.
• Rebate forms must be postmarked no later than 30
days from purchase date.
• Rebate application must be accompanied by proof of
purchase (copy of sales receipt or invoice) listing the
BGE Account Holder’s name.
• Qualified electric heat pump water heater must be
purchased in Maryland, or the buyer must have paid
applicable Maryland sales and use tax.
• Installations must comply with all federal, state, and
local code requirements.
• Qualified electric heat pump water heater must
replace an existing water heater at the installation
address listed in the rebate form. The water heater
being replaced shall no longer be operated at
the installation address listed on the rebate form,
nor be reinstalled at another location in the BGE
service territory.
