VIRGINIA CANDELARIO-SEGUR HOMECOMING

Visual Artist EXHIBIT
CA, USA

Virginia has been influenced by the same subject and

theme since she was in the second grade: Women and
Fashion. She has chosen to concentrate on the fashion
and the ladies of the 1920s.

The 1920s is an era like no other in fashion, art and

Architecture. I am drawn to the 20s because of its
opulence, energy, radical changes, elegance and
creativity of the period.

Her signature style of using 3D paints was developed on

canvas and was first demonstrated on the piece Janorah.
Using 3D paints allows her to embellish the paintings
with pearls, sequence, crystals, beads, embroidery, lace,
different gems and delicate links of gold. Just like precious
stones, these textured paintings sparkle even more when
the sun or light touches them.

She has been entering her artworks at the Tracy Art

League Juried Exhibition since 2002 and has won several Sacred Heart Mixed media
awards and prizes including 2008 First Prize in Mixed 11 in. by 14 in., 2015
Media category for her chair entitled 1920s Glitz. Also at
the 2008 Exhibitions, she won a third prize and Honorable
Mention in the Acrylic category.

She has been the subject of articles on five different Madonna and Child
Mixed Media
occasions in the Record and The Tracy Press. Born and

educated in the Philippines, she migrated to the US in
1987. She and her family lives in Tracy, CA where she run
an art studio providing art lessons to children of all ages.

She just had her One Woman Show at the Grand Theatre
Center for the Arts in Tracy, CA last January 21 to March
4, 2017.
