PROBLEM
Area malir cantt (Phase 1, Phase 2 and AskV)
The problem is related with the labor class (House maids and construction workers)
which comes from the city to work inside the cantonment area.
As soon as they enter the cantonment from the check post they have to walk atleast 15
minutes to get to their desired areas.
Most of the workers are old males and females. It is hard for them to walk in
scorching sun to their destinations.
No public transport is allowed to run in the residential areas of the cantonment.
The concentration of the labour class is high between 7:30 AM 11:00 AM and then
5:00 PM 7:00 PM
SOLUTION
One easy solution for this can be military sponsored transport service for the labor
class which should take the workers to their desired areas and drop them off at a
single point.
The transportation should be done using military trucks which are always available.
The vehicles should gather the workers of one particular area in one vehicle and drop
them off at their destination.
The drop off service should be provided after every 45 minutes from the check post to
the desired area of the workers from 7:30 AM 11:00 AM.
The drop off service from their respected areas to the check post should also be
carried out after every 1 hour from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM
MARKET ANALYSIS
Target Market: the target market for this free of cost transportation will the labour
class only as they cannot manage to walk for such a time in scorching heat and then
be able to do their respective work properly. This service will at least save their time,
energy and they will be able to work in a good environment. The main objective is to
provide this free transportation to the elderly labour class. This is the best we can do
for them when they are out earning.
Competition: competition for this would be none from any side. As a military
sponsored transportation service in their area no one will object to it and competition
 will be none as there is no other public transportation system available within the
premises of the cantonment area.
Market Trends: Many societies in Karachi run free transportation service for their
residents only. This service will be first of its kind as it is being run free of cost for the
labour class who is coming here to work. It will be a good relief for them.
SWOT ANALYSIS
Strengths: free ride and providing relief to the elderly. Free ride on their way to work
and then back.
Weakness: weakness for this will be none. The only weakness will be the time gap
between the drop off services
Opportunities: this will be counted as an csr activity hence the best opportunity
arising out of it will be gaining countless blessings (No money making opportunities)
Threats: Threats will be nil for this service. The service will be secured. Hence any
undesirable activity cannot expected from this service.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
Military sponsored service is equal to state sponsored service. No start-up cost
needed.
The Army vehicles are available in huge quantity with in the cantonment premises.
3 buses will go to 3 different areas back and forth at least 6 times a day during drop
off time and 3 times during bringing them back at evening time every day. The
average distance for the 3 areas is 2.5 KM from the check post.
The estimated fuel charges are 11000 PKR / Month for the complete service.
