CHECKING BEFORE OPERATION (FIG. 3, 4)

Lift up the supply and take-up reel arms (16) & (7) as
illustrated by the arrows. Check the voltage shown on the
plate on the side of the projector and be certain it is correct
for your supply voltage.
Press the OFF button (3) and insert the power cord plug
into the socket (24) on the projector. Connect the other
end of the power cord to the power source.

CHANGEOVER OF SUPER 8 AND REGULAR 8

(FIG. 4, 6)
For Super 8, place the selector switch (10) in the SUPER posi-
tion. This is the only action needed for projecting Super 8
film. For Regular 8, place the selector in the REGULAR
position and remove the Super 8 adaptor (17) from the sup-
ply reel spindle.

REEL MOUNTING (FIG. 5, 6)

Mount the 400 foot auto-reel (supplied) on the take-up spindle'
(5) so that the retaining pins of the spindle snap into slots
in the auto-reel. Fold the reel clip (6) over. Mount a reel
of film (maximum 400 ft) on the supply reel spindle. Be sure
that the perforated edge of the film is towards you and the
retaining pins -of the spindle snap into the slots in the reel.
Fold the reel clip over. The supply reel spindle fs designed,

-2-
to accept reels of both Super 8 and Regular 8, but a re-
movable adaptor (stored inside front cover) for Super 8 (17)
must be attached onto the take-up (rear) spindle. For pro-
jecting Regular 8 film, remove this adaptor.

FILM THREADING (FIG. 5, 7)

Be certain the end 'of the film is neatly trimmed by the film
trimmer located inside the front cover. To trim film cor-
rectly, place one perforation over the small pins on the"
trimmer and depress trimmer firmly.

Press the FORWARD button to start the motor and then in

sert the end of the film leader into the film entrance. After
approximately 5 seconds, momentarily depress the loop
former knob (18) to "F" to insure smooth and quiet pro-
jection. The film is now transported by the automatic thread-
ing mechanism through the film channel (8) underneath the
projector and automatically attaches to the take-up reel.
l{l reverse projection, lift the loop former lever momentarily
tQ R" only when an unusual rattling noise and fluttering
II

of the pictures occurs.

KEYBOARD SWITCH CONTROL (FIG. 9)

The keyboard switch control provides switches for reverse,
off, forward, 'and lamp. Either forward or reverse switch can
be depressed at one time. The lamp switch should only be
depressed after the projector is operating in forward or; re
verse.
Depressing the off switch turns the motor and lamp off, and
returns the buttons to their original position.

-3-
PROJECTION LENS (FIG. 4, 8)
Slide the zooming lever back and forth until a suitable picture
size is obtained on the screen. To focus, turn the focusing
knob (14) in either direction until the picture on the screen
is sharp and clear. To take out the lens, ope'n the front
cover, then pull the focusing knob towards you and pull the
lens tube out towards the front of the projector. To re-
assemble, be sure the straight groove on the rear side of
the lens barrel is in line with the center of the~focusing knob.
Model C-lOO is equipped with f/1.5 20 mm. to 32 mm and
Model C-300, C-200 and C-200-S are equipped with f/l.3,
l5mm to 25mm zoom lens. For zooming sHde the zooming
lever back and forth.

VARIABLE SPEED CONTR.OL (FIG. 10)

By turning the variable speed control (9) in the, direction of
" +" the projection speed will be increased. . Turning the
variable speed control to "~,, will reduce the speed. The
standard running speed is 18 frames per second for Super
8 and 16 frames per second for Regular 8, but the projection
speed may be adjusted to the natural action of the projected
image.

FRAMING CONTROL (FIG. 4~

If a film frame line appears in the picture during" projection,
rotate the framing control knob (19) until the picture is
properly cente'red on the screen.
/
ELEVii-ION WHEEL
Adjust the height of the projected image by turning the ele-
vation wheel (23) on the front of the projector.

-4-
STILL PROJECTION (FIG. 4, 11)
For single frame projection, press down the still projection
lever (11) to STILL., If the still picture does not appear,
momentarily lift the lever to NORMAL and press it down
again to STILL. Still picturing should not be for more than
60 seconds at one time'

SLOW MOTION (Model C-300 only) (FIG. 4)

For slow motion projection, place the projection control lever
(12) in the SLOW position. If the pictures should flutter, use
the loop former. Slow motion projection, as slow as 4
frames per second, can be obtained, by adjusting the pro-
jection control lever. Both STILL and SLOW MOTION pro-
jection can be performed in forward or reverse.

REWINDING
After all film has been run through the projector, attach the
end of the film directly from the take-up reel to the supply
reel. Slide the film into the slot in the side of the supply
reel and give the reel at least one turn counterclockwise.
Press the REVERSE button. For rapid rewinding, adjust the
speed control (9). If the film breaks or jams during pro-
jection, it can usually be removed by pres'sing the REVERSE
button. If this does not correct the condition, press the OFF
button at once, snd perform the following procedure:

1. Disconnect the projector from power source.

2. Open the front cover (15).
3. Pull the film channel (8) towards you, using both hands
(Fig. 12).
4. Lift the lower sprocket shoe knob, and remove the film

-5-
from the sprocket teeth (Fig. 13).
5. Push back the pressure plate and remove the film by
gently twisting it to the right (Fig. 14).
6. Press down the upper sprocket shoe knob and remove
film (Fig. 15).

Make sure that the film channel is properly snapped back

to its original position.

REPLACEMENT OF 8 V 50 W LAMP FOR

MODEL C-I00 (FIG. 16, 17)
First press the OFF button, then remove the lamp house
cover (21) by pulling it straight up. The lamp can be lifted
out by pressing on the upper part of the lamp and turning
it slightly to the left.
When replacing the lamp, reverse the above procedure.

REPLACEMENT OF TUNGSTEN HALOGEN LAMP

FOR MODEL C-200, C-300 AND C-200-S
(FIG. 16, 18)
Model C-200, C300, and C-200-S are designed to accept the
ATLAS AI/45 tungsten halogen projection lamp rated at 12V
100W or equivalent.. The tungsten halogen lamp has the
advantages of eliminating blackening of the inside of the
lamp glass so that the lamp does not become dimmer with
use, high light output, long life ruggedness, and accurate
positioning due to the specially designed pre-focus type base'.
Do not touch the lamp with fingers. Finger prints on the
glass will shorten lamp life. If the lamp is accidently touched
with fingers, it should be cleaned with a grease solvent such
as alcohol or cigarette lighter fluid before use.
To replace the AI/45 lamp in the projector, perform the folio,-

-6-
ing procedure:
1. Disconnect the projector from the power source.
2. Remove the lamp house cover (21) by pulling away
from projector body (FIG. 16).
3. Open the spring tightener.
4. Unplug the pins of the lamp from the socket (FIG. 18).
5. To replace lamp, plug new lamp into lamp socket and
reverse the above procedure.

MULTI VOLTAGE
Your projector may be operated on voltages of 120,220 and
240 volts, and is set at the factory for the voltage shown on
the plate located on the side of the projector body. If it is
necessary to change the voltage, rernove the back cover
(26). Loosen and re-attach jumper wire to correct terminals
as indicated on the terminals.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE (FIG. 19)

Before projection, clean the aperture plate ~nd the pressure
plate with the soft brush supplied (stored inside front cover).
Other main components should also be cleaned and lubricated
periodically.
