I Am
The Good Shepherd
From the beginning of time the Word
of God talked about Good
Shepherding. A shepherd is one who
tends sheep, a leader, a provider, and
a caretaker, to keep you safe like a
father does. God (I Am) was their
shepherd in the Old Testament.
In Genesis 43:15, Jacob talked about
God as his Shepherd all through his
life. God guided him, provided for
him, and protected him.
In Numbers 27:17 Moses talked about
a shepherd appointed by God to lead
the people (sheep).
In Psalm 23 says, The Lord is my
Shepherd I shall not want... We are His
sheep and have total dependence on

Him as our Provider, Protection, and
Caregiver. As sheep we are to trust
our Shepherd and not be afraid. If and
when we as sheep go astray, we can
cry out, and the Shepherd will rescue
us and restore us back to Him.
God tells us (as in Isaiah 41:10-11),
not to fear because He is with us dont
be dismayed because He has
established a relationship with us, and
He gave us reassurance of His
strength, help, and victory in Him.
I Am in the Old Testament is a
sovereignty Shepherd (God); a
shepherd who loves and provides for
His sheep.
I Am in the New Testament was a
prophecy; in the Old Testament Jesus
is the Messiah who was to be born.
Matthew 2:6 talks about Jesus the
Great Shepherd who was born. The
rulers and religious leaders didnt
even know Him; but He was the one
they had been waiting for. They didnt
