helpful for people to understand themselves, others and the world
around them.

Role: I will act as a journalist and collect information on the topic

chosen by my group.

In this unit we will be broadcasting information in different mediums

to gain large audience attention. The purpose of media is to spread
awareness about national and international happenings in the society
and around the world.

Task 1- Design Need

Justify the need for a solution to this problem? Explain your point of
view.

According to our problem, we decided to make a news media that can

achieve its purpose of giving information to different audience so that
they can have easy access to information that will not only satisfy
their surveillance and gratification.

The objective of our unit is to help students practice language skills via
broadcasting news. It also develops other skills such as computer skills,
organizing, information processing, critical thinking and teamwork. It
gives real life learning experience to the students which enhances
student confidence, autonomy, and responsibility.

Students working in groups are responsible for selecting news to

broadcast so they will hunt for the latest news. Students will do
editing and produce the final broadcast in the form of video or
newspaper. Students are free to choose the content of news providing
impressive , truthful or worthwhile reading material.

Our target audience is the society, news hunters, school community,

and general audience.

Task 2-Research Plan (Mind map)

Step 1

We will create a survey on news consumption by which we will able to

know the opinion of the target audience.

Step 2

Hunt for the latest topic as per our interest area using Internet or
using Worldwide Web.

Step 3
We will visit similar websites to gain and develop new ideas for creating
our final product.

These videos were about people broadcasting news that was occurring
around them. In the first video, they were broadcasting global news
where as in the other videos, they were broadcasting school news. They
talked about happenings in their school such as student council
elections, new teachers,etc.

I choose these videos because they were very interesting and also gave

across the world. We get to know about sports, politics,etc. News also
improves our general knowledge.

To write a global news report, you need to first collect information
about the news that you want to make a report on. Then, you need to
analyse and understand the information you have collected. Finally, you

1. Is it important for teenagers to pay attention to world
news?
Yes, because they will also be well informed of what is happening
around them and they also relate the news to the course or syllabus
that they are taking.

Task 4 Design Brief

After visiting all the similar websites, we will start summarizing the
analysis of the collected data in the form of analysis report.

I am going to design and make a video in which I will broadcast news

about economy. I will use an online tool to edit the video and a camera
to film the video. While editing the video, no safety measures are
required but while filming, we have to be a bit careful with the
equipment. There will not be much cost as I already own a good quality
camera and I will use a free online tool to edit the video.
