Should teachers assign students homework? Is a question that is asked a

lot. Teachers should not assign students homework. Homework should not be

assigned because students have other activities outside of school.

There are three major reasons teachers should not assign students

homework. First, kids have other activities outside of school like sports,

music, and spending time with their family. Second, The End of Homework

showed that, even for high school students, overloading them with

homework is not associated with higher grades. Third, The End of

Homework also showed that in elementary school, homework is not a part

of higher test scores.

Some people might say that students need homework so they fully

understand the lesson. However, kids can ask questions in class or meet

with the teacher if they dont understand the lesson. Kids also need time to

process the lesson without having more work involving the lesson.
In conclusion, teacher should not assign students homework. Students

should not have homework because kids have other activities outside of

school. Teachers and parents should consider doing more research on

students not having homework.

This I Believe My Story Memory

Choose the memory from yesterday that was the easiest
to write about. Even if you choose to explain your belief with
more than one story ONE memory will be the base for it all to
guide you through. Fill in the questions TO MAKE COMPLETE

the event you have picked. Let your mind go back & relive. Make
connections (i.e. to your past, to what is important to you, to
lessons learned) - THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN TIE IN
ADDITIONAL STORIES. Use the information on your
Important Moment Outline to help you. You should NOT be
creating something new anymore. This is based on ALL

wrong.

11. What is the theme/VALUE that I can take away from

this experience?
It is not ok to steal.

12. If I had to narrow it down to a simple sentence, I

would have to say:
I believe... In knowing the right from wrong.

13. What is the best way to organize my This I Believe

essay? Will I write it like a video camera and capture one
story in depth or will I go with the snapshot approach and

The best way to do it is to explain the story and bring in
