Introduction:

The Arab Unity School was

established in 1969, by Mrs. Z. A.
Taher. She has done her best to
equip the schools with all the
possible facilities and different
activities. Such a possible facility
is the Arab Unity School Library.
Through out the years the school
library is updated with the latest
and most up to date versions of
story books and reference books.
The relation of a library with a
database (MS-Access) is that the
library is the only place where
daily updating of data is required.
All this is done with the help of
Microsoft Access.
Aims:
The manual work is difficult to be
done by the librarian.
Many errors occur during the
manual input of data.
Manual input of data is very
difficult and time-consuming.
There can be chances of the
librarian to forget something to
be updated, changed, etc.
Management of paperwork is
difficult to handle.
There is no privacy of data on
paper.
Objectives:
Computerizing the system would
make the work easier for the
librarian.
Updating can be done easily.
The information or data has
privacy or can be kept safe using
passwords.
Searching of data is faster and
easier.
There is more leisure time and
less waste.
There are fewer errors using the
computerized system to enter
the data.

Now I would like to show you an

example how a computerized
system of the library lending and
borrowing system is maintained.

Therefore this proves that the
computerized database would be a
successful method to maintain the records
of students in the library lending and
borrowing system.
