Zoomy 2.

1) Overview of Zoomy 2.0: Zoomy 2.0 is a handheld digital

microscope that can connect to a computer, projector or interactive
whiteboard.

2) How to use Zoomy 2.0: Zoomy 2.0 is very easy to use. The first
thing you need to do is download the Zoomy 2.0 software onto your
computer. Then, plug the Zoomy 2.0 into your computer. Pull up
the software and hold the Zoomy 2.0 device over a desired object to
see a magnified image of the object. To focus the microscope, all
you need to do is turn the top of the Zoomy. To take a photograph
of the magnified image, you can press the silver button on the top
of the Zoomy.

-They can be expensive
-May experience challenges getting the software to work on Mac
computers
 6) How Zoomy 2.0 can support teaching and learning:
-Students can use Zoomy 2.0 to explore parts of flowers and
plants. They can take pictures of the flowers and plants they
observed and analyze the photographs for similarities and
differences.
-Teach students about the importance of keeping the classroom
clean. Students can collect samples from objects around the
classroom. They can use the Zoomy to take a closer look at the
bacteria on these objects.
-During a weather unit, students could use the Zoomy to observe
snowflakes. This could help students learn about the structure of
snowflakes.
-During a unit involving learning about rocks, students could use
Zoomy to make observations and inquiries about the different
rocks as well as classify the rocks into different categories.
