Course Overview:
This online course will introduce you to the librarys digital information resources that
you will need to complete classroom projects and assignments this year and in both
middle and upper school. This course will help take the stress out of research! You will
learn to access, search, read, and utilize the digital collection for recreational reading,
personal inquiry, and academic research. The course is broken up into modules that will
each focus on one resource to allow you to become familiar with accessing and using it.
Each module may contain lessons, notes, assignments, a quiz, or small projects. I will be
giving each of you feedback on everything you submit to help keep you on the right
track. There is no required textbook as all required notes and information will be
included on the course website. You will need access to a computer, Internet, printer,
speakers, a PDF reader, streaming media player, Microsoft Word or Google Docs, and
your school e-mail account, username, and password. All of this is available to you in
the library and select classrooms if you do not have access from home.
