Summary
Students will begin the class with a warm-up question about the readings we have
previously discussed. Once the Warm-up is done, we will have a few people explain their
answers and move onto their next activity. Students will access Quizlet and play a matching
time game where they should beat their time and match the facts correctly. Then, they will
review flashcards which are on the same website. There will be a quiz option as well and theyll
try to retake the quiz until they get a perfect score and call me over to verify this. They will write
a journal entry and answer the two questions presented, once they have answered the questions
they will turn in their journals and I will revise their responses. For summative assessments, they
will work on a class presentation focusing on the historical importance that both or one of the
writers had for their time-period, and the impact it had on slavery. This presentation can be
focused on the importance of the middle passage, or can solely focus on the author and the
importance his work had on the abolition movement. There will be different topic and their
presentations will not be repetitive. They will receive and give peer reviews and on the last week
of presentations all students will receive their peer reviews and final grades back.
