Postcards from the Colonies

You are going to create 3 postcards representing the three regions of

early colonization in the North America. The following instructions are
provided to assist you in completing your project. The project will be
completed in class.

I will provide you with three large postcards, three stamps and a sheet
of paper.

Each post card will represent a different region of early colonization

Your sheet of notebook paper will be used to write where you found the
information.

Front of Postcards

Include the name of the region on the front of each post card.

Illustrate the front of each post card with images that represent the
region.

Include images that show economic resources.

Illustrations must be in color.

Back of Postcards

On the back of each postcard you will write a letter describing your
experience in the

region. You will write it from the perspective of one of the leaders of
that region.

Each letter should contain the following:

1. Why you settled there?

2. Information on the climate and the features of the land

3. What jobs do most people have there?

4. Be sure to sign the letter with the name of the leader you are
representing.

Stamps
I have provided you with three stamps. They represent the three
different regions in

which the first colonies settled. Glue the appropriate stamp to each of
your postcards.

Notebook Paper

Write your name and date on the top of the notebook paper

Write down the name of the books, articles, or website you used to get
ideas.

Use at least 4 resources.

When you have finished all three postcards, staple them to your
notebook paper.
