Ignorance Is Not Bliss

I received again an email from a newbie TRC member.

It read: Id like to cancel my membership. After three months, I dont see anything positive happening to my
investments.
As the Leader of TRC, this ignorance is my fault. I dont blame it on this newbie. Even IF we now give free
Quick Start Seminars 6x a month. Even IF Im like a broken record in our newsletters, telling members, Were long-
term! Not short-term!
So I will say it again and again and again: Nothing happens short-
term in the stock market! Nothing!
In fact, dont expect anything positive to happen FOR AS LONG
AS THREE YEARS! (I dont like writing in large caps, but this is an
exception.)
But AFTER faithfully investing for three years, youll be as happy
as a little kid who opens his birthday gift and discovers a brand-new
shiny red bike inside. Its going to be glorious.
Recently, in one of our prayer meetings, a happy guy grabbed my
arm and said, Brother Bo, I hit my first million! Im now a millionaire!
He even showed me a piece of papera printed copy of his stock
market portfolio. He was ecstatic. He then hugged me and said, Thank you so much.
I live for those hugs.
This is my mission: To make you reach your first million, and then your first P5 million, and then your first P10
million.
But for crying out loud, this will not take three months!
It will take YEARS. But it will happen.
And Ill be here, guiding you, all the way.

Cautious But Hopeful

In the last few weeks, the Philippine market has gone down significantly. This market sell-off was mostly
triggered by the worse than expected performance of the Chinese economy. This weakness in Chinas economy
drove the steep sell-off of the Shanghai Stock Market. Which in turn led to the sell-off of the U.S., Japanese, and
Philippine market, as well as other global markets.
Thus, COL Research and TRC are keeping a more cautious view on 2016. This is caused by slower earnings
growth forecast for listed companies, weak economic outlook of other Asian countries led by China, and the
possibility of more rate increases by the U.S. Fed. Furthermore, we also foresee the Philippines to be negatively
affected by the slowdown of the Chinese economy because the resulting drop in commodity prices could negatively
impact OFW remittances from several countries that are dependent on commodity exports.
However, despite the more cautious view on 2016, the current market sell-off were seeing is beginning to
look a little excessive. Although the weak outlook in the Chinese
economy and OFW remittances could deter economic growth, COL
Research and TRC still believe that the Philippines still have several
factors that will push the economy to be resilient, specifically: 1)
the countrys favorable demographics; 2) big underinvestment
and high capacity utilization in various industries; 3) the strong
balance sheet of the government, giving it room for an increase
in spending; and 4) outlook for the BPO sector remains very
attractive.
Presently, the market is weak and will most likely to remain
weak in the short term given the prevailing risks. However, COL
Research and TRC believe that now is a good time to begin
accumulating stocks. In fact, investors can proceed by buying
through a peso-cost averaging strategy.
For us SAM investors, we can do this by buying every month
or every quarter the SAM stocks under their Buy-Below Price,
with a fixed amount of money. You can do the same with our
recommended equity funds as well. This will enable you to accumulate at low prices. Please be guided for your
investing accordingly.
