Macdonald, John M., et al. The Effects of Immigrant Concentration on Changes in

Neighborhood Crime Rates. Journal of Quantitative Criminology, vol. 29, no. 2, Feb.

2012, pp. 191215. doi:10.1007/s10940-012-9176-8.

The Journal of Quantitative Criminology speaks about the effect of immigration and any

possible correlation between crime rates. The authors of this article have done research to

indicate that there is no correlation between the concentration of immigrants and an

increasing crime rate. Contrary to common thinking, areas with high concentrations of

immigrants tend to have a lower crime rate. John M. Macdonald, one of the authors, has

Ph.D. in Criminology which he obtained from the University of Maryland. He has been

studying his concentration since 1994. Macdonald also has a B.A in Political Science.

This source will help prove that, Senate Bill 108, is designed to combat and lessen a

problem that is non-existent, therefore making it useless and encroaching upon tax payer

dollars.

violent right-wing reaction against immigrants. Their research reveals the deep roots of

hatred within U.S. History and documents the new civil rights movement. Justin Akers

Chacon is a professor of U.S. History and Chicano Studies in San Diego, California. He

has contributed to the International Socialist Review and Immigration. Mike Davis is a

Chomsky, Aviva. Undocumented How Immigration Became Illegal. Boston: Beacon, 2014. P

Undocumented is a book by Aviva Chomsky that details what being undocumented means, and

how it affects humans that are here in the United States Illegally. This book also has facts based

on research on how families with children go through to make a living in the states. Chomsky

also describes how much immigrants help the economy with employment and social services.

What makes Aviva Chomsky a good source would be the amount of work that she has done

including her published books about immigration, she is also a professor at Salem State

University, a activist and the coordinator of Latin American & Latino and Caribbean studies.

What makes this source a great one would be the information that Chomsky has published in her

book. Using this information about immigration by describing the benefits that illegal

immigrants bring to the states and why it would be unfair to charge them with more punishment

than a citizen who is here legally.
