Course Description: Importance of quality; total quality management; statistical concepts relevant to
process control; control charts for variables and attributes; sampling plans. Introduction to reliability
models and acceptance testing; issues of standardization.
Learning Objectives: To well understand the statistical principles and tools used for quality control and
improvement. Be able to apply these principles and techniques in industrial systems analysis. To
understand and be familiar with fundamental concepts related to product quality and reliability issues.
Be able to construct and use different control charts and sampling plans in industry. Be familiar with
process capability analysis and other quality related techniques.
