Unit Summary:
Students will be able to know what events triggered the American Revolution. They will also be able to explain the restrictions the British put on
the colonist and why. Students will also know how the colonist reacted to these said restrictions. Students will also know what measures that
were taken to draft and ratifying the Constitution. They will be able to explain the different powers for each judicial branch. Additionally, students
must also be able to explain the significance of the Bill of Rights and why they were put into the Constitution. This unit will consist of lectures,
video clips, class and group discussion and debates, all of which will reinforce various learning strategies and fundamentals. At the end of the
unit, students will incorporate all of their newly acquired information into a Newsletter article.
