En el ao 1981, atendiendo la peticin de varios profesores de la
Facultad de Bellas Artes de Barcelona, Vallejo desarrolla la gama
de colores Acrylic Studio. El objetivo de esta gama de colores es
proporcionar a los artistas una gama de colores acrlicos de ptima
calidad, con pigmentos seleccionados en funcin de su mxima
permanencia, a un precio nico y comercializado en grandes
formatos. En aquellos aos fue una presentacin revolucionaria e
innovadora en el mbito artstico espaol. Con la presentacin de
la gama Acrylic Studio se inicia una nueva poca de expansin de
nuestra empresa y el concepto de sta gama de colores para artistas
se convertir, dcadas despus, en una categora de productos de
referencia para la industria.
En el ao 1986 presentamos la primera gama de colores acrlicos
para aerografa. A principios de la siguiente dcada formulamos
las primeras series de colores especficos para los aficionados al
Modelismo y las Artes decorativas.

The Vallejo Company was established in 1965, in New Jersey,

U.S.A. In the first years the company specialized in the manufacture
of Film Color, waterbased acrylic colors for animated films (cartoons).
In 1969 the company moved to Spain; in those years many important
cartoon studios were based in Europe. The special qualities and unique
formula of Film Color soon became known, and the product was used by
most of the important studios on the continent.
In 1972 Amadeo Vallejo developed Acrylic Artist Color, the first acrylic

constant process and Vallejo takes pride in the constant aim to improve
the quality and presentation of the colors and to continue offering
products with exceptional quality to all artists.
Since the beginning in the seventies until today, the company has
extended its installations several times, starting in a garage of 30 square
meters, then moving to a warehouse, and finally expanding to the actual
installations in 3 industrial buildings, divided into raw material storage,
manufacturing and stock sections.
At present Acrylicos Vallejo exports to more than 55 countries, and the AV
colors comply with all the security and environment regulations in force in
the European Common Market and the United States. More information

for fine arts manufactured in Spain, and one of the first acrylic colors for
artists produced in Europe. In this period, Vallejo also introduced Liquid
Watercolor-colors for graphic design.
In the year 1981, following suggestions by professors of the Fine Arts
University of Barcelona, Vallejo presented Acrylic Studio- a range of high
quality acrylic colors for fine arts in large size packaging (200 and 500ml.
sizes, the first such presentation in artist colors worldwide) at a reduced
and unified price. With this range, a result of the most careful selection
of permanent artist pigments, avoiding the most expensive colors, such
as cadmiums and cobalts, Vallejo created the line of colors which was to
become a benchmark for the industry and the beginning of a new period
of expansion for Acrylicos Vallejo.
The growing popularity of waterbased acrylic colors became of interest
to airbrush artists, until then working with solvent based products. With
the help of these artists during the periods of trial and testing, Vallejo
formulated the first acrylic colors for airbrushing in 1986. In the following
years, the company began developing a range of colors-Model Color-
for hobby and model-painters, as well as complete lines of colors and
auxiliary products for decorative arts.
Acrylicos Vallejo still is a family company, and Amadeo Vallejo continues
to supervise the development of new products, supported now by a
technical department dedicated to investigation and development. The

their waterbased counterparts, and absolutely
durable and light fast. Paint should be
thoroughly shaken or stirred before use. If it
were necessary to dilute the colours further,
only 96% pure alcohol should be added to
avoid oxidation. Liquid Gold cannot be mixed
with water since the slightest contact with water
will cause the pigments to rust within the jar.

Textile Color es una gama de colores para tejidos a base de
ES
agua con tonalidades brillantes y permanentes; tras su aplicacin
forman una pelcula de tacto suave y aterciopelado sobre el tejido. La
gama de colores se compone de 54 tonos entre opacos, transparentes,
metalizados, fluorescentes y 6 colores efecto purpurina.
Nueva Frmula: La nueva formulacin de los colores Textile Color es
idnea para su empleo sobre mltiples tejidos incluso sobre prendas
no prelavadas, adems no necesita fijacin con plancha, tan solo con
dejar secar los colores aplicados sobre la prenda durante 48 horas es
suficiente para lograr una ptima fijacin sobre el tejido.
Modo de empleo: Es aconsejable prelavar la prenda ya que no todos
los fabricantes emplean el mismo tipo de apresto. La consistencia
cremosa de los colores es idnea para tcnicas de estarcido con
plantillas y tambin procesos de estampacin mediante serigrafa.
Recomendamos usar Mdium Textil, referencia 81, como diluyente, ya
que no modifica las propiedades, ni la adherencia, de los colores.
Tejidos: Los mejores resultados se obtienen sobre fibras naturales
como algodn y lino pero su adherencia sobre seda y fibras sintticas
como licra o polister es excelente puesto que la nueva formulacin
evita que se cuartee la pintura cuando se expande el tejido.Para tejidos
oscuros, es recomendable emplear colores opacos o metalizados y en
algn caso puede ser necesario superponer varias capas o aplicar una
base de color blanco para lograr una mayor intensidad cromtica.
Fijacin: Textile Color no requiere fijacin por plancha; tan solo con
dejar secar la prenda al aire durante 24 o 48 horas, es suficiente para
fijar la pintura al tejido.
Instrucciones de lavado: Lavar con programa corto, a una
temperatura mxima de 40C.
Limpieza: Los utensilios se pueden lavar con agua y jabn.
Seguridad: Los colores de Textile Color son conforme a normativa
EN71-3:2013.
Alergnicos: En base a la documentacin recibida de nuestros
proveedores certificamos que no se encuentran presentes o aadidos
de forma intencionada trazas de los alergnicos ms comunes como
lcteos, huevo, ltex, gluten, frutos secos, marisco.

Textile Color is a range of brilliant, permanent water-based

colors. Once applied on the fabric, they form a soft, velvet-like
texture. The range contains 54 colors, opaque, transparent, metallic and
fluorescent, and 6 colors with a glitter finish.
New Formula: The new formulation of Textile Color is ideal for all
fabrics, including those not prewashed. Textile Color does not need to
be fixed by ironing, simply allowing the colors to dry on the material for
48 hours is enough to achieve a maximum bond to the fabric.
Usage instructions: Before painting, it is recommended to prewash
the textiles, since not all manufacturers use the same kind of sizing,
although in any case the new formula shows exceptional adherence
even on fabrics which have not been washed previously.The creamy
consistency of the colors is perfect for stencil techniques, as well as for
silk screen and printing applications. Textile Medium, reference 81, is
recommended as a Thinner (rather than water) because it will not affect
the quality and adhering properties of the colors.
Fabrics: The best results are achieved on natural fabrics like cotton or
linen, but the adherence of Textile Color to silk and synthetic fibers like
lycra or polyester is excellent, since the new formula permits the colors
to expand along with the fabric without fissures in the paint film.
For dark fabrics, it is advisable to use opaque or metallic colors and in
some cases it may be necessary to super-impose various coats of color,
or to apply a white base in order to obtain the desired color intensity.
Fixing the Colors: Textile Color doesnt require being fixed by ironing,
its sufficient to allow the colors to air dry during 24-48 hours to bond
them to the fabric.
Washing instructions: Wash painted fabrics in a short program, max.
temperature of 40C.
Cleaning: Brushes and utensils can be washed with soap and water.
Safety: Textile Color conforms to EN71-3:2013.
Allergenics: Based on the documentation received from our suppliers
we certify that Textil Color does not contain traces of the most common
allergens such as dairy products, eggs, latex, gluten, nuts, shellfish.

REACH
R.E.A.CH es el nuevo Reglamento de la Comunidad Europea
ES
que entr en vigor el 1 de junio de 2007 que regula el uso de
sustancias qumicas. El Protocolo Reach ha sido descrito como la
mas compleja legislacin de la Unin Europea y la ms importante
en los ltimos 20 aos puesto que regula el registro ,la evaluacin y
autorizacin o restriccin de las sustancias y preparados qumicos con
el objetivo de garantizar el mas elevado nivel de proteccin al usuario y
al medio ambiente. El propsito de REACH es mejorar la proteccin de
la salud del usuario y del medio ambiente mediante una identificacin
mejor y ms temprana de las propiedades intrnsecas de las sustancias
qumicas. Una de las principales razones para desarrollar y adoptar el
Reglamento REACH ha sido que durante muchos aos se han estado
fabricando y distribuyendo en el mercado europeo una gran cantidad
de productos de los cuales todava no hay una informacin suficiente
sobre los peligros que pueden representar para la salud del usuario y el
medio ambiente.
ASTM D-4236
Las siglas ASTM corresponden a la American Society for Testing and
Materials. La norma ASTM D-4236* describe el procedimiento estndar
a seguir en la informacin que el fabricante debe facilitar en la etiqueta
del producto con el fin de advertir, mediante frases de precaucin
o advertencia, del posible riesgo para la salud del usuario. Estos
documentos se refieren a los riesgos que se sabe que estn asociados
a un producto, o a uno o varios de sus componentes, cuando ste
se encuentre presente en una forma fsica, volumen o concentracin
que en opinin de los toxiclogos pudiera llegar a ser causante de
algn efecto crnico perjudicial para la salud. Este procedimiento
afecta exclusivamente a los materiales de arte destinados a la venta a
particulares de cualquier edad y es de aplicacin a los productos que
hayan sido etiquetados especficamente como causantes reconocidos
de efectos crnicos perjudiciales para la salud.
Adems, esta prctica no especifica los mtodos de anlisis utilizados
para determinar si una sustancia o producto puede producir efectos
crnicos perjudiciales para la salud. Las etiquetas debern incluir la
indicacin ADVERTENCIA, una lista de los riesgos potencialmente
crnicos, el nombre del componente o componentes peligrosos,
instrucciones para su manipulacin segura, una lista de componentes
sensibilizadores, las fuentes de informacin, el contenido nominal
y cantidad del producto, as como cualquier otra informacin
complementaria.
* Para obtener dicha certificacin es necesario facilitar las formula-
ciones de nuestros colores a un toxiclogo acreditado por la organi-
zacin ASTM para que ste, tras un pormenorizado estudio de los
ingredientes de cada uno de los colores, redacte un documento en el
cual informa de las frases de advertencia que debe portar cada una de
las etiquetas.

REACH
R.E.A.CH is a new European Community Regulation on

chemi-cals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration,
Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances.
The new law entered into force on 1 June 2007.
The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and
the environment through the better and earlier identification of the
intrinsic properties of chemical substances. One of the main reasons
for developing and adopting the REACH Regulation was that a large
number of substances have been manufactured and placed on the
market in Europe for many years, sometimes in very high amounts,
and yet there is insufficient information on the hazards that they pose
to human health and the environment. There is a need to fill these
information gaps to ensure that industry is able to assess hazards
and risks of the substances, and to identify and implement the risk
management measures to protect humans and the environment.
ASTM D-4236
The U.S.A. certification ASTM D-4236* Standard Practice for
Labeling Art Materials for Chronic Health Hazards describes
the standard procedure for developing precautionary labels for
art materials in case of chronic health hazard, and to provide
precautionary statements based on knowledge that exists in the
scientific and medical communities. These statements concern
hazards known to be associated with a product or product
component(s) when it is present in a physical form, volume, or
concentration that in the opinion of a toxicologist has the potential
to produce a chronic adverse health effect. This practice applies
exclusively to art materials packaged in sizes intended for individual
users of any age or those participating in a small group, and does
not apply to products appropriately labeled for known chronic
health hazards. Also, this practice does not specify test methods
for determining whether a substance or product presents adverse
chronic health effects.
Labels should include the signal word WARNING, list of potentially
chronic hazards, name of chronically hazardous component(s), safe
handling instructions, list of sensitizing components, information
sources, labeling content and product size, and other supplementary
information. (ASTM International, known until 2001 as the American
Society for Testing and Materials, is an international standards
organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus
technical standards).
* To obtain the ASTM certification, the manufacturer presents the
formu-lation of the products in question to an accredited toxicologist,
who after careful study of the ingredients of each color provides the
documentation which informs of the warning, if applicable, that each
of the product labels should provide.
