Wooded areas -Possibility to set up ambushes (If held by the enemy)
-Can provide cover and concealment -Possible surprise attacks
-If numerous possibility to canalize the -The enemy might have set up booby
enemy traps
-If upgraded can be used to slow down -Might hinder our advance by slowing our
the enemy momentum down

Rivers and canals - can be used to delay the enemy - the brigade might need mobility

on the part of the engineers
- manoeuvre tempo might be
slowed down
Open terrain If conducting offensive operation: If conducting an offensive operation
Facilitates the advance and momentum None!
If conducting an offensive operation If conducting a defensive operation
Offers good firing possibilities This type of terrain cannot be
upgraded except with minefields or
traps. It is hence difficult to delay the
enemy.
Broken terrain If conducting defensive operation: Depending on the type of equipment:
High grounds can be used as again the momentum can be slowed
