Indonesia Bioremediation Project

Informasi mengenai proyek bioremediasi lingkungan di Sumatera, Indonesia, sebagai tanggapan

atas investigasi yang dilakukan oleh Kejaksaan Agung, Republik Indonesia.

Chevron beroperasi sesuai dengan peraturan dan perundang-undangan yang berlaku di Indonesia. CPI
menunjuk kontraktor pihak ketiga dipilih melalui proses tender yang terbuka, transparan dan bertanggung
jawab sesuai dengan prosedur yang ditetapkan oleh Pemerintah Indonesia dan BPMIGAS, sebagai
badan pemerintah pengatur pengelolaan minyak dan gas.

Desain dan penggunaan teknologi Bioremediasi telah dievaluasi dan disetujui oleh badan-badan
pemerintah yang terkait, yaitu Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan BPMIGAS.

Teknologi bioremediasi telah diuji dan diaplikasikan di Sumatera sejak tahun 1994, untuk secara selamat
memproses limbah. Sesuai dengan azas kepatuhan terhadap peraturan pemerintah, CPI sebagai
operator meminta dan memperoleh izin dan otorisasi dari pemerintah untuk semua pekerjaan terkait
bioremediasi yang dilakukan di Sumatera.

CPI memperoleh peringkat Biru dalam program PROPER dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup sebagai
bukti kepatuhan terhadap standar pemerintah di bidang lingkungan untuk operasi kami di Sumatera pada
tahun 2011.

Information on our environmental bioremediation project in Sumatra, Indonesia, in response to an

investigation by the Office of the Attorney General, the Republic of Indonesia.

PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) operates in compliance with the laws and regulations of Indonesia.
CPI selects contractors through an open, transparent and accountable tender process in accordance with
the procedures stipulated by the Government of Indonesia and BPMIGAS, the state oil and gas regulator.

The design and use of bioremediation technology was evaluated and approved by the authorized
government agencies, the Ministry of the Environment and BPMIGAS.

Bioremediation technology has been tested and applied in Sumatra since 1994, in order to safely process
waste material. In compliance with government regulations, CPI as the operator sought and received
government permits and authorization for all bioremediation work conducted in Sumatra.

CPI was awarded a PROPER Blue rating by the Environment Ministry for compliance with environmental
regulations from our Sumatra operations in 2011.
