This portfolio is a representation of all of the essays that I have written of the course of the

semester. There are 4 composition pieces that are different is essay type.

The first essay was the narrative piece. I wrote this piece actually when I was in the 11th grade

for the essay portion of my college application. I decided to use it again for this class because I

really liked the essay and it described me pretty well as a person. Written communication was the

learning outcome for this essay because the essay was written. This essay was actually better the

second time I wrote it. The first time it had a lot of grammatical errors and it wasnt well thought

out. Even though this essay was written for a AP Compositions class, it still showed that I was

struggling as a writer. For this essay, the writing process was pretty easy for me mostly because it

was my story. It was easy for me to write about something that I love. Music is a passion that I

have so when I was assigned this paper I already knew what I was going to write about. For this

paper, I learned a lot about grammar mostly.

The second essay was the exemplification essay. I wrote this paper 15 minutes before it was

due and I was actually very proud of what I wrote. I think it would have been better if I had

actually planed and taken time to write it but Im still pretty happy with what I wrote in the end.

For this paper, the learning outcomes was also Written Communication. I think that this paper

shows how much of a happy person I am and how much I am willing to learn. The process for

this paper was really rushed. It was late and I had to turn it in like right away in order not to lose
points. I learned a lot about the importance of planning ahead when writing and the importance

of a rough draft.

The third composition is not written. It is the digital story that goes with narrative that I wrote.

The learning outcomes for this project was oral, written and knowledge and thinking. It was oral

because we had to speak in our digital story. The written part comes from the essay we wrote

previous to the digital story being made. The process for this was me looking up how to make a

digital story and I also how to revise a digital story.

The fourth and final composition piece was the compare and contrast essay. In this essay we

had to use different documents as our sources to include in the essay. We had four sources that

we had to include and cite from. The learning outcomes for this is Written communication and

also knowledge and thinking because we had to know how to cite the information and also how

to extract the information that we need. Since this was the final piece, I used all of the things that

I learned from the previous pieces to add into this essay. My process for creating the piece was a

lot. I had to make an outline using the documents for the compare and contrast sheet. Then I had

to look up the proper was to construct and compare and contrast essay. Lastly I had to do a lot of

revising for this essay. This was the hardest essay for me to write because I had never written and

compare and contrast essay before this.
