Nubism

My religion is called Nubism. Nubism is a religion that believes in one higher being.

There is only one God who does not have any sons or daughters. The only other person that

comes after God is the prophet. The prophet that they believe in is a women named Oumi. Oumi

was a beautiful young girl who was going through very dark times in her life. Oumi was a

Nubian queen in the kingdom of Nubia. The religion got its name Nubism because Oumi was a

Nubian Queen. Her husband, Syth was a powerful man from a different kingdom who was much

older than Oumi. It was an arranged marriage so there was no love involved just strictly business.

The young couple lived in the sandy deserts of Egypt ruling over thousands of people.

Syth was mentally abusive towards Oumi constantly insulting her with negative words. They got

pregnant only for her to miscarry. After the baby miscarried the King took his mental abuse and

turned it physical often times blaming her for the miscarry. At this point Syth decided that he

could no longer be married to a woman who could not even give him a child and decided to

divorce her. After they divorced Oumi was dethroned and thrown out of the kingdom. She went

from living a lavish lifestyle to having nothing left. The insecurities from the mental abuse

haunted her and she started to feel bitter about the world because of her miscarriage. She went

years like this wallowing in self pity and self hate refusing to come out of her one bedroom

apartment. She started to develop a deep hatred for men and was known as the bitter lady. One

sunny Wednesday morning she looked into the mirror and could not recognize herself anymore.

She started to pray and in the process saw her once vibrant eyes were now lifeless and she

decided that she needed to change. She started off writing everything that she hated about herself

on a piece of paper and then crumbled it all up and threw it away. She then yelled out everything
that was wrong with her life and realised she had a lot of pent up emotion. She said that by doing

this she was throwing away a part of herself that she no longer wanted to be. Throughout the next

couple of years she started to learn how to love herself again and started to do yoga on her free

time. Doing yoga freed her spirit and mind from negative energy and she found her confidence

again. The day that Oumi reached a breakthrough was on a sunny Wednesday morning, she

looked in the mirror and loved everything that was looking back. Oumi stopped blaming her ex

husband for everything that went wrong in her life and decided that in order for her to move on

completely she needed to forgive him. After forgiving him Oumi found inner peace within

herself and wanted to help other reach this state of self love. She went to the Kingdom and

started to teach other people this message and encouraged them to pray and do yoga. She was

surprised by how many women quickly joined the movement and within years the religion was

heavily practiced in Egypt. However once her ex husband started to see more people in the

kingdom change he decided that he would not let this message continue. Syth demanded that the

prophet be killed immediately and that all of her followers stop practicing her rituals. With God's

protection the prophet was not killed by the king but rather went into hiding and told her

followers to continue to pass along her message. God put her through all this hardship in order

for her to be able to pass the message of self love and self acceptance to other people.

The human problem is that people are not confident enough and have negativity within

themselves. This is a human problem because when a person has negative self esteem issues it

can hold them back in a lot of areas of life. The ultimate goal of this religion is to find peace

within oneself and to love oneself completely. One essential ritual for the followers of Nubism to

follow is to do yoga at least twice a week. Doing yoga at least twice a week will increase energy

levels, increase self acceptance, and reduces depression. Every wednesday the followers of the
Nubism are encouraged to go and pray at their local church. The churches are set up with a

modern architecture design with a lot of windows for natural light. Natural light is said to

improve people's overall mood and can reduce seasonal depression.It is designed with the intent

of it being a happy place having various yoga classes and a gym for its members. The members

pray to an ultimate being but also pray to Oumi the prophet. During their prayer the members

chant things that they love about themselves. The purpose of the prayer is to invite positive and

loving spirits into the church and into people's lives. The church of Nubism also has baptisme,

when someone decides to be baptized they are committing their life to the church. The process of

being baptized is simply dipping the right hand into what is considered to be holy water. The

holy water comes from Egypt and is called Zimzam. The water is holy because it comes from

prophet Oumi, the myth that comes with the water is that Oumis tears filled it when she first got

dethroned.

It is a big honor to be baptized in Nubism because it means that you have overcome

something in your life and have found inner peace. Members that choose to be baptized wear a

white bracelet in order for them to always remember to keep negative energy out. Hell does not

exist in the religion and neither does sin. Nubism does not believe in hell because the word hell

comes with negative energy. In the afterlife there is only different levels of heaven and the more

inner peace you have the higher the level of heaven you will be in. The baptism is privately done

in church by the head minister. It is not done in front of other members because being baptized is

a private decision and they want it to be a unique experience. Once baptized members can offer

one on one advising to new members who are going through a hard time. The church also offers

lawyers to women who just got out of abusive relationships and helps them cope with difficult

divorces.
 The church has one holiday. The holiday that is celebrated is the day that prophet Oumi

decided to change her life. This day is November 16th and the way people celebrate it is by

going to the church and doing yoga in a big group. The purpose of the holiday is to celebrate and

embrace oneself fully.

Death in the religion Nubism is a big celebration. It is a celebration not of the death itself

but of the life the person has lived. In Nubism when a person dies they are buried in all white.

When the prophet Oumi comes to take their soul she will know that their soul was pure before

leaving the earth. In order for a soul to be pure the person must get rid of any self hate and

bitterness that they may be harvesting.The funeral is a three day celebration all held at the

church. If a person was baptized before they died it would be a four day celebration. During the

first day people gather around the church and speak of the good deeds that the person who has

died has done. The second day the church prays for the soul to reach the highest level of heaven.

The third day which is the last day if a person was not baptized, is lighting candles and letting it

float in a body of water. The fourth day is a privatized ceremony held for only close families and

friends and this is throwing holy Zimzam water on top of the grave. This step is important

because it insures that even in the afterlife the person will have a pure soul free from any hate.

Marriage in the church is a big step. In order for two people to marry in the church they

must first go through classes to insure that they both mentally ready for it. The church does this

because of the bad marriage experience that prophet Oumi went through. The couple have to

both have pure intentions and the male can not see the bride for up to one week before the

wedding. The church does not let the couple see each other a week before the wedding because

prophet Oumi and her husband waited one after her miscarriage to get a divorce. If the groom

and bride do not follow this rule then the marriage will be cursed with negative energy. Sex
before marriage is not looked down upon in the religion because it is you embracing another

person soul and intertwining it with your own. Prophet Oumi wrote down the message that God

gave her in a book while she was in hiding. This book is called the holy self. In this book the

prophet recorded all the hardship that she endured in her lifetime and also all the people who she

helped understand this message when she was alive. This book is very sacred and is held with the

utmost respect in the church. You can not touch the book if your intentions with it are bad. It is

said that once a person touches the book the prophet herself is guiding you to read the message.

Charity is also a big part of the religion. People are encouraged to give to the less

fortunate and to help other people out. Giving charity in Nubism is another form of practicing.

When you give any form of charity to another person you are getting rid of bad energy that you

might be manifesting inside. Nubism is a religion that is full of love and the ultimate goal is to

find peace within oneself and to love oneself completely.
