CIS 385 Contemporary Multimedia Tools

Student Choice Evaluation Assignment

DESCRIBE THE MTOOL SOLUTION
Spring 2017

Write the Goal (9)

Describe the mTool Solution (25)
<Nicole Halverson>
Note: You should be using the same mTool used to write the Problem Narrative
assignment.

Do the Research
An important step toward solving the problem is conducting the research. I conducted the
research for the web conferencing evaluation. For the Student Choice Evaluation, you will
need to do this yourself.

I am not overly concerned about formatting here; just get the information recorded in the box
below. You can add links, text or whatever works for you. No restrictions except, do NOT use
the articles listed as examples below as part of this research section.

Examples of Research: Here are a few of the articles that influenced (and continue to
influence) my choice to use web conferencing mTools for your first evaluation and your final
project.

Begin with the End in Mind: Write the Goal.
After doing all of the analysis, you should have a pretty complete picture of your problem, your
audience, your findings and implications. Based on all this data, write one overarching goal that
you would like to achieve by using this mTool. Your goal must be closely related to the Problem
Description and Findings. Your goal should be measurable.

Note: When writing the goal, focus on solving the problem, not the features of the mTool itself.

Example of a Goal
The Goal: Using the ADDIE process, create an assignment for the CIS 385 class that provides
my students an optimal set of experiences to bring into the work world using an mTool that is
relevant to the work force, regardless of discipline.

Write the Goal.

The Goal: I need to find an mTool that will allow me to draft several tweets, and also have the
ability to schedule when they will be sent out. Having an mTool that will do so will allow me to
use my time more effectively.

Your Goal will be graded according to these criteria:

You may use the mTool product webpage, any mTool review sites you find, blog posts, wikis,
social media posts by users, etc. to find information about this tool. Support the statements you

Describe your Solution.
A. Explanation
I chose this mTool product for a few different reasons. Listed below are some of
the great advantages that Hootsuite has to offer.

I was really looking for a tool that will allow me to save time since my days can be
quite busy. Hootsuite will allow me to schedule several tweets at once; therefore it will
save me plenty of time!

B. Description
a. The name of the mTool that I have chosen is Hootsuite. This product serves
a few different purposes. It allows a user to schedule unlimited messages
across all of their social networks. It allows one to engage with customers;
you can be a part of the conversation and never miss when people are
talking about your brand. One is able to track their social media campaigns
so they can improve ROI and grow their business. Most importantly, it
saves a lot of time for someone/a business.
b. Hootsuite is a web-based product.
c. The product is not free. Listed below are the pricing options:

d. Yes, products of the tool can be saved to the hard drive.
e. The basic package is free, which only allows there to be 3 social media
platforms to post to. The pricing options listed above also explain what is
allowed and what is not allowed with each plan.
f. This product will definitely help me with saving time in my daily life, and
that is one of the most important things that I am looking for in an mTool to
help solve my problem.
