BRIEF INTRODUCTION LI 2017:

EAC requirement Clause 7.1(Accreditation Manual)

Engineering experience exposure

Completed 3 years of studies. ( Sem. 6 and 7 )

Duration 8 weeks. (10th July 1st September 2017)

ROLE OF RECEIVING ORGANISATION:

Provide placement with appropriate on job training as

Civil Engineer

Students are required to record daily activities

Supervised by Engineer registered with BEM

Monitor the student progress and verifying the activities

on a weekly basis by the Industrial Supervisor

ROLE OF LECTURER/FACULTYS EXAMINER:

Visit by assigned lecturers to the organisation

Last three weeks of training (14th Aug 18th Aug 2017)

Conduct interview to gather feedback from Industrial
Supervisor

Evaluate progress of trainees achievement

Evaluate logbook and placement report

Key-in marks for award of grades in e_LI

ROLE OF STUDENTS:

Must register at the receiving organisation on 1st day of

training

Observe all regulations of the receiving organisation

Record daily activities in the logbook

Verify the logbook on a weekly basis by the Industrial
Supervisor

Industrial Supervisor must be registered engineer with
BEM

Submit a placement report & verified logbook to the
Faculty Supervisor by 18th September 2017

OVERALL ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION:

Industrial Supervisor 30%

Faculty Examiner 30%

Student Placement Report 30%

Student Logbook 10%
Total 100%

Students must obtain a minimum of 50% in each of the

above component and 50% on the overall assessment.

BEFORE LI VISIT:

Lecturer/Facultys Supervisor will set an

appointment with Industrial Supervisor
and students on the proposed visit in
advance.

Other requirements e.g. presentation to
lecturer/facultys supervisors. News or
activities of LIs activities will be informed
via facebook page namely LI FKA UITM.

Industrial Training is a useful programme providing

engineering experience exposure relating to real life as
an engineer

Enhancing interpersonal and professional development
skills

Promoting life long learning through practical
experience

Relating existing knowledge to an engineering project

Establishing good ethical conduct

Encouraging problem solving skills and creative thinking
