From the Worthy President

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

What a great year 2016 was for our Aerie, both gratifying and financially. All of this is due to our
managers and volunteer staff. With the installation of new officers in both the Aerie and the Auxiliary a great deal
was scheduled and accomplished. To recap, we had these special events: festival for heroes, a clock party, eagle riders
poker runs, a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, a fun Christmas breakfast for the children, Toys for Tots, and our Christmas
wreathes. We did all this while continuing with the weekly activities: Flip 5, pit beef, yard sale, the breakfasts, etc.
Each of these presented different challenges for our volunteers, but they met these challenges by giving unselfishly of
their time and money. Since many of these activities provide the means for us to give back to our community, it is very
gratifying to see so many members join in and support our various causes. The year did bring troubled times for some of
our members and the aerie and auxiliary pulled together to offer support and assist them. As your president, I'm
extremely proud of those members who reach out and offer support to others in a time of need.
With the New Year comes new challenges and we will address and meet each one. There are a lot of events
coming up in the next few months and I hope to see all of you there. As always, my sincere thanks to the member
volunteers of the aerie, a great group of people striving to do some good, have some fun and support their community.

Happy New Year everyone!
We have been very busy the last few months. My fellow officers and I have worked tirelessly. We
delivered Thanksgiving meals to needy families. We delivered toys to needy children. We hosted the 12 Days
before Christmas, and the Childrens Breakfast with Santa. Thanks to everyone who assisted in those events. I
also would thank the Aerie for their generosity and assistance in Breakfast with Santa. Best event yet!
We are planning Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner on Saturday, January 21 from 4PM- 7 PM. Salad,
dessert and garlic bread will also be served! Cost is only $10.00 per person. Come support the Auxiliary!

February dinner date has been set, however, the menu has not. Look for the signs post in the club
for more information.
We are hosting another Murder Mystery Dinner on Saturday, March 18th. More information will be
coming soon. It will have a Saint Patrick's Day feel. Tickets will go on sale by the 21st of January! Buy them
fast, we sold out our last Murder Dinner Show!
I look forward to all the upcoming events, we will keep everyone posted! Don't forget to check the
bulletin boards in the Eagles for all your updates on upcoming events!

There is a process that all new members must go through before becoming a member.
1. Turn in your application and fees. Two sponsors, each of the same gender, must sign the back of the application.
2. At the following meeting, your application is presented and read. Someone will then call you for an interview.
3. At the next meeting, your application will be voted on.
4. After the vote, you will receive a call regarding your initiation. This can take place at the following meeting or
arrangements can be made for another day/time. After initiation, your membership card will either be mailed to
you or given to you after the meeting.
Please note: You have SIX MONTHS to be initiated. If not, your name will be dropped and you must reapply.
ALL DUES RENEWALS FOR 2017 MUST BE PAID BY THE ABOVE DATES OR YOU WILL BE
DROPPED AND WILL NEED TO RE-ENROLL.
