I write this letter in support of Michael Lawrence for employment as a teacher. As a fellow sixth
grade teacher, I have had opportunities to work collaboratively with him this year. His
performance has been outstanding. He is knowledgeable, well organized, and caring.

Michael has an outstanding attitude. He takes his duties seriously and is willing to give the time
necessary to be fully prepared. He has implemented Benchmark Language Arts and Houghton
Mifflin Math. Michael is thoughtful about the academic program and has worked hard to meet
the differing needs of the students in his classroom in all curricular areas.

Classroom management is a strength in which Michael possesses. He has implemented

classroom rules; a consistent discipline plan and procedures that make his classroom instruction
flow smoothly and effectively. He has excellent rapport with his students and genuinely enjoys
teaching.

The past year Michael has participated in grade level collaborative meetings, where he worked
with his grade level colleagues to examine assessment results and alternative data in order to
select a grade level instructional focus. Michael has often tried new strategies and adapts
techniques in his classroom. He then has been able to be a positive role model by sharing the
successful results of his instruction with his grade level.
