Gver the past two semesters, | have had the privilege of working with Ally as a student in the MAT-E science methods class and the reading assessment class. In class, the work she submitted was always of Superior quality, and she ultimately earned a current GPA of 4.0. ‘As Ally’s Practicum I and Practicum Il supervisor, | observed Ally in both of her field placements. One ‘was at Eastern Elementary School and the other at Rockland Woods Elementary School near Hagerstown, MD. In both placements, she worked well with students from diverse backgrounds and ‘cultures. The lessons she designed were organized and provided great detail with attention to differentiated instruction and assessments. Recently, she orchestrated an activity with her first grade students in which the students wrote and created movie trailers, All of the students, including the reluctant writers, were highly motivated and exhibited their writing skills through an electronic format. ‘One of her many strengths is her genuine cancer and compassion for her students, and so she is always reflective as she makes plans to assure that every child is learning to the best of his or her ability. in addition to providing excellent instruction in the classroom setting, Ally has also extended her ‘experiences with children beyond the classroom. She has been a volunteer ina summer camp, a tutor through the FSU PALS program, and a tutor in a Pre-K program at the Jonathan Hager Elementary School.
