There are four three-point seat belts (drivers, front passengers, rear left and rear right) and one
two-point seat belt (rear center).
The front seat belts have the pretensioner. When a severe frontal impact occurs, seat belt
pretensioners rewind the seat belts immediately to restrain the occupants to their seats. It helps
the effective operation of the seat belts and airbags.

Pretensioner

The seat belt pretensioner is a unit to retract the seat belt instantly by igniting the inflator in the
pretensioner when the front air bag system is activated.
It also increases safety effect of the seat belt by limiting the front seat occupants from moving
forward and keeping occupants in correct posture.
The load limiter is also installed to reduce chest impact to a front seat occupant by loosening the
seat belt while maintaining the force applied by the seat belt uniformly when the pretensioner
retracts the seat belt instantly. The seat belt pretensioner operates first, and then the load limiter
operates.

Drivers Height Adjuster Front passengers

It is to improve comfort and
optimize restrictive
performance in case of a
collision by adjusting the
belt position to the
occupant's shoulder.

- Tha gap netween
roller and sleeve Rotation of sleeve
is maintained.
1. Initial position Thus, the sleeve
transfers the reel
spring torque to
the spool when it
is rotated.

engaged) - When the piston is rotating, the roller moves to
shaft according to the cam shape of pinion. At
this moment, the clutch is engaged.
- The combined set of pinion, sleeve and spool
rotates as a set.

- The piston moves up by

reaches to the bottom, the pinion is
disengaged and rotates freely.

1) Types of Child Restraint System

There are 2 securing types for the child restraint system.

- By using seat belt

- By using ISOFIX (for the vehicle with ISOFIX system)

3) Securing a Child Seat with ISOFIX System

How to use the ISOFIXLower Latch Anchor

- The ISOFIX lower latch anchors are located

in the left and right outboard rear seating
(3) ISOFIX child positions. Their locations (1) are shown in
restrain the illustration.
- Insert the child restraint attachments into
the ISOFIX lower latch anchors until it
clicks.
- Do not use the seat belt for installing the
ISOFIX child restraint.
- There is no ISOFIX lower latch anchor
provided for the center rear seating
position.

(1) ISOFIX mark (2) Latch anchor

- When using the ISOFIX lower latch
system, all unused vehicle rear seat belt
metal latch plates or tabs must be
latched securely in their seat belt buckles
and the seat belt webbing must be
retracted behind the child restraint to
prevent the child from reaching and
taking hold of unretracted seat belts.
Unlatched metal latch plates or tabs may
allow the child to reach the unretracted
seat belts which may result in
strangulation and a serious injury or
death to the child in the child restraint.
- Child restraint anchorages are designed
to withstand only those loads imposed
by correctly fitted child restraints. Under
no circumstances are they to be used for
adult seat belts or harnesses or for
attaching other items or equipment to the
vehicle.

How to use the Rear Anchor

- Two rear anchors are located on the rear

wall.
- Connect the tether connector in child
restraint to the rear anchor.
- Securely tighten the child restraint by
adjusting the webbing of the tether
connector.

- Child restraint anchorages are designed to withstand only those loads imposed by correctly
fitted child restraints.
- Make sure to use the lower latch anchors and rear anchor together when installing the ISOFIX
child restraint.
- Insert the child restraint attachments into the ISOFIX lower latch anchors until it clicks.
- The tether strap may not work properly if attached somewhere other than the correct rear
tether anchor.
- If the child restraint is not anchored properly, the risk of a child being seriously injured or
killed in a collision greatly increases.
- When using the ISOFIX lower latch anchors, make sure that no interference are around the
bar and the seat belt is not stuck.
- Rock the child restraint to check if it is securely installed. Refer to instructions provided by
the manufacturer of the child restraint.
- Do not install the child restraint if it hinders the operations of front seat.
