AEROBIC EXERCISE STARTING MAY 16TH

Go get your swimsuits!!!!

Its time for water aerobics. The weather is about to
stay warm and the pool is the best way to exercise. Its lots of fun and
doctor recommended as the very best way to get and stay in shape without
putting stress on our joints. A wonderful way to strengthen our inner core
that gives us our ability to have good balance with no stiffness. Come and
laugh with us and be good to your body!!
Gary Skaggs let me know that the water is heated and the pool furniture
has been renovated. Youll feel as though you are working out at a resort,
the area is so inviting.
See you there Tuesday, May 16th...10a.m. to 11a.m...Well meet until
October 1st. Every Tuesday at the Ridge Oak Swimming Pool.
Call if you have any questions..

Changes Coming To the Greens Website

The Greens website has become a valuable community informa-

tion resource and communication platform. To keep pace with
the evolving technologies, the website is undergoing a rewrite to
resolve increasing compatibility issues due to our dated software.
As an original team member, it is hard to believe eight years
have passed since the website was introduced; an eternity in
the technology world. Not considered in the original design, to-
days Apple and Android mobile devices are dominant platforms
for accessing information.

With a modern look and feel the new Greens website will be
compatible with these technologies. The resident content will be
similar with a few minor exceptions. The Community Blog tab
will be replaced with an Upcoming Events tab. The one major
change will be with Contact Information. It will be possible to
add multiple telephone and email contact information. Residents
will also have the ability to include an emergency contact. If
everything goes as planned, residents will be able to edit their
personal information.

An exact transition date is not established but we are hoping for

a late May or June introduction. We will keep you advised.

A Note From Your Board
Larry E, Reider, President-Greens Board of Directors

Dear Greens Homeowner,

The month of May is upon us. May was originally the third month of the year. May
later moved to the fifth month of the year when January and February were
added to the calendar around 700 BC.
May contains several holidays and festivals; the most celebrated are Mothers Day
on the second Sunday in May, and Memorial Day on the last Monday in May.
May also brings more activity into our lives and neighborhood-not all of it
desired activity. Crime rates increase in warmer weather. With this in mind, it is
good for us to be reminded of ways to help insure our safety, individually and as a
community. The following tips are from the Bakersfield Police Department.
1. Use your alarm. Greens residents are normally vigilant in setting their
alarms. Approximately 80% of our residents use their alarms on a regular
basis. This is important since of the break-ins that occurred the Seven Oaks
and Grand Island communities since 2013, nearly 90% were in homes that
did not have the alarm set.
2. Keep your doors and windows locked.
3. Lock all of your gates.
4. Pick up your newspaper and mail daily.
5. Install and use exterior motion lights, and turn on outside lights at night.
6. Park in your garage and lock your vehicles.
7. Never open your door to a stranger, check identification.
8. Do not give out your gate code, use the vendor code for services people.
9. Secure your home while on vacation.
10. Be aware of your neighborhood. Report suspicious activity to Trans West at
381-2905.
Another area in our community that needs our support has been brought to my at-
tention. The large dumpsters at our two clubhouses are still being used for per-
sonal garbage, including dog waste and garden waste such as tree limbs. Please be
reminded that these dumpsters are for large household items that will not go into
your personal cans, and for garbage and trash as a result of social functions at our
clubhouses. It becomes difficult and frustrating for those responsible for a social
event to find these dumpsters filled with personal garbage and items that dont
belong.
Please enjoy the month of May, and all that it brings to us. Dont forget your Board
of Directors will meet on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at 4:00 PM in the White Oak Club-
house. Your board hopes you will attend.
