1. InstallandUninstallProgram
1.1 BeforeInstallation
Please install online fingerprint sensor driver if you want to enroll
fingerprintthroughtheAttendanceManagementsoftware.

1. If the 4000 or previous version driver


(Biokey200/URU4000/URU40000B) has been installed before, you
mustuninstallitfirst,theoperationstepsasbelow:

(1) Run "Add/Delete program" in control panel, uninstall fingerprint


sensordriver.

(2)Run"Regedit.exe"in"Run"ontheStartingmenu,anddelete thekey
values of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\DigitalPersona, if the
valueexists.

(3) Delete all "DP*.dll" under the directory of windows\system32


"windows\systeminwin98".

(4) Delete the folder "biokey200" under the directory of Program


files\ZKTeco,ifthefolderexists.

Restartyourcomputerafteruninstall,andtheninstallonlinefingerprint
sensordriver.

2. If fingerprint sensor driver wasn't installed before, install the driver


directly.

(1) Software environment: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows


2003, Windows Vista 32 bits, Windows Vista 64 bits (USB
Communication does not support), Windows 7 32 bits, Windows 7 64
bits (The Ultimate and Personal Edition do not support USB
Communication,butHomePremiumEdition supports.).

(2)Softwaresupportdatabase: Access,SQL Server.

1.2InstallProgram
Youhadbetterturnoffalltheotherprogramsbeforeinstalling,toavoid
collisionduringtheinstallingprocess.

Note: the following demonstration software version may be not


identical with your CD contents, please follow the CD installing
process.

1. Insert the CD into your CDROM, the installation program will run
automatically.

2. The software supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and


English,selectthelanguageyouwanttoinstall,andclick"OK"button
toenterthe Welcomewindow:

Tips:click"Cancel"buttontoabortinstallation.

3. Click "Next" button on the Welcome window to enter the License


Agreement window, please read carefully. Choose "I accept the
agreement", and the click "Next" button to enter the next installing
process:

4.Inthisinterfaceyoucanselecttheinstallingdirectoryofthesoftware,

5.Inthisstepyoucanchoosethecomponentwhichyouwanttoinstall,
such as Fingerprint reader driver and Attendance Management.
Click on " " if you need it (recommend selecting all components
exceptithasbeeninstalled),thenclickon "Next",go tothenextpage:

6.Inthisinterface,youcanchangethenameanddecidewheretoplace
and theprogram'sshortcuts.Click "Next",turntothenextstep:

7. Suggest using the defaults and then click"Next" button, turn to the
nextstep:

8.Click"Install"button,thesoftwarestarttoinstallandcopythefiles
totheharddiskuntilthefingerprintreaderdriverstarttoinstall.Ifyou
didn'tselecttoinstallitatstep5,theprocesswillturntostep10andend
theinstallation.

9. This interface will inquire you to select components to install, we


recommendselectingthemall,thenclickingon"Next",entering thenext
step

10. The fingerprint reader driver start installing, when the process is
completed,thedialogboxwillinquireyoutorestartthe computernow
orlater.Thedriverwillworkwhenthecomputerrestarted.

11.Click"Finish"tocompletetheinstallation.

1.3UninstallProgram
1.3.1UninstalltheSoftware

If you do not need this software anymore, you can uninstall it from
computerasbelow:

Closetheattendancemanagementprogram.

Method 1: Run "Add/Delete program" in control panel, choose


attendancemanagementsystemanduninstallit.

Method 2: Alternatively, chooseStart > All Programs > ZKTeco


>Uninstall.

Forclearallthesoftware,youneedtoenterdirectorytodeletethefolder

wherethesoftwareinstalled.

1.3.2UninstallFingerprintSensorDriver

If you do not need to use the fingerprint sensor anymore, you can
uninstall it. Run "Add/Delete program" in control panel, uninstall
fingerprintsensordriver.

1.4WorkFlowoftheSoftware
1.Downloadsuser'sfingerprintorthecardwhichhavebeenenrolledin
theDevicetothissoftware.(ConnectDevice>Download userinfo
andFp)

2. Upload employee's name and other materials to device which have


been modify in the Employee Maintenance. (Connect Device >
UploaduserinfoandFp)

3.AssignEmployeeto Department.(EnterDepartmentmanagement)

4.SetupShiftTimetable.(EnterMaintenanceTimetable)

5.SetupShiftSchedule.(EnterMaintenanceShiftSchedules)

6.Assigntheemployee Schedule.(EnterEmployeeSchedule)

7. Download attendance data in devices to this software. (Connect


Device > DownloadAttendanceLogs)

8. Examine Attendance report form. (Enter Attendance Record or


AttendanceCalculatingandReports)

2. ProgramManagement

2.1ExchangeDatabetweenDeviceandProgram
2.1.1DeviceManagement

Beforedownloadingoruploadingdatafrom(to)theDevice,ensurethat
thecommunicationbetweenDeviceandPChasestablished.Soconnect
thedevicetothesystemfirstly,inputtherelatedparameter,aftercreate
connectionsuccessful,uploadingordownloadingdataisavailable.

1.DeviceMaintenance

Click "Device (Maintenance)" on the main interface or click the right


mouse button, and then click"Device" menu on the popup menus, the
popupthe Selectdevicetomaintenancewindow,showasbelow:

Chooseeditstypeasneeded:Addnewdevice,Editcurrentdeviceor
Editalldevice.

If choose Edit current device and click "OK", then the Device
maintenancewindowwillpopup:

YoucanchangetheCommunicationparameterasneeded.

IfchooseEditalldeviceandclick"OK",thentheDevicemanage
windowwillpopup:

Youcan add,deleteoreditdeviceathereasneeded.

There are two default communication modes provided in the system,


one is RS232/RS485, another is Ethernet. Some specify machine is
designedwithUSBcommunicationmode(suchasH2),formoredetail,

please refer to corresponding "User Manual", the using method please


viewtheexplanationbelow.

l Adddevice

Click "Add"button,theadddevicewindowwillpopup:

You can set the Communication parameter, and then click "Save"
buttontosavesettings.(TheMachineListontheleftshowthenameof
alldevices.)

Theparametersspecification:

u Add: User may newly add device, input the corresponding


connection parameter of Device, save it, the device name will
displayontheleftsidelist.

u Name:Namedthedevice,whichmachinehasbeenconnectedwith
system.

u Communication type: Which way is used in communication


betweenthedeviceandcomputer.

u Baudrate: Thebaudrateissame withitinthemachine.

u IPaddress:DeviceIPaddress.

u Communication key: If there is the communication password to


besetinthemachineoption,youmustfillthesameonepassword,
otherwise,notneedtofillin.

u Devicenumber:Deviceidentitynumber.

u Port: The port is used by computer. The RS232/RS485 mode is


"com"portthedefaultportnumberofEthernetis4370.

u Delete:IftheDevicewill notbeinuseany more,singleclickthe


device of your choice in the left side list, click on "Cancel" to
deletethisDevicefromthesystem.

u Save:Ifafterselectingandmodifyingconnectionparameterofthe
Deviceofyourchoice,click"Save"tosavetheinformation.

Note:SomemachinedoesnotsupporttheEthernetcommunication.
ItisunabletousetheEthernetmodetoconnectthemachine

l Deletedevice

If you don't need to use the device anymore, then you can click and
choosethedevice,andthenclick "Delete"buttontodeleteit.

l Save

You can click "Save" button to save settings after you modify the
CommunicationParameters.

2.ConnectionDevice

TheDevicewhich existinthesystemwilldisplayinthe"MachineList",
singleclick the Device to choose it, then click "Connect" button, or
rightclick the Device that want to be connected, and then click
"Connect"submenuonthepopupmenu.

When the system connect with Device, the prompt "Connecting with
device, please wait" will appear on below right side status column,
whetherthelinksuccessornotwillinformyou.

Iffailtoconnect,pleasecheck:

1) Whether the Device connecting parameters equipped with


communicationparametersofthemenuoption.

2)Whetherthecommunicationlinelinkingwell.

3.Disconnect

WhenthesystemandDevicecontinuetouploadanddownloaddata,the
Deviceisina"Working"status,soitisunabledootheroperatingatthis

time. After uploading and downloading data, disconnect Device, and


click"Disconnect"todisconnecttheDevicecommunication.

JNote:Clicktherightmousebuttononthedevice,movethecursor
totheViewstylemenu,andthenpopupoptionmenus.Youcanchoose
Large Icon, Small Icon, List or Report as needed. The default view
style isReport.

4.DeviceManagement

Only when thedevice is connected, the downloading data isavailable,


directly click "AC Manage" in the column "Machine" on the main
interfaceorclickDevicemanagementmenu,andthenchoosethe"AC
Manage"submenu on the popup menu.Choosethemachinefrom the
leftlisttoviewdetails.

ConnectMachineofFingerprintandFace

a.ThisDeviceInfopagedescribesthefingerprintmachineinformation,
thoughthispageyoucanviewtheUserCount,ProductName,Serial
Number, Firmware version, Platform, etc. Click "Read Options"
buttontoviewdetails.

Note:Itisunabletomodifythisinformation,viewtheseonly.

b. In odder to guarantee machine reliability run for long time, some


machinessupportpowermanagementfunction,suchashibernate,Power
Off,etc.ClickPowerpagination.

Click "Read Options" button to view the machine idle option on the
maininterface:

c. Click Advanced Function pagination, view advanced function of


Device:

RestartandPoweroffDevice:Remoterestartingandshutdownofthe
device.

Initial Device: System will clear all data in the device, include
fingerprintandrecord.

Notice:Ifyouclearupalldata,thedatawillbedamageandunable
to be restored. To help avoid possible lost, download all data and
keepinsystembeforeperformancethisoperation.

Clearadminprivilege:iftheoperatorforgetthenameandpasswordin
thedevice,and failtoenterthe option menu, youcanusethis orderto
eliminateoldadministrator,thenreregistertheadministrator.

Sync time: Synchronize Device time to PC keep that the Device


representtimeissameasPC.

Capture Image: Capture the fingerprint image which present by you


currentlypressfingeronthemachinesensorface.

Note:Somemachinedoesn'tsupportthisfunction.

d.ClickCommSetpagination,viewthedevicecommunicationsetting,
click"ReadOptions"tolookupallcommunication setting.

Connectingtheaccesscontroldevice

When the system connects the access control device, click

Maintenance/Options onthemenubarofthemaininterface,andthen
choosetheSystemOptionssubmenu,thentheSystemsetupwindow
will popup, show as below. Choose Function Configuration and tick
the Accesscontrolitemtoenabletheaccesscontrolfunction.

ReentertheDevicemanagewindow,then youcanseetheBiometric,
Access Control, Mifare and Wiegand tabs are added in the window.
The followingrespectivelyintroducesthe functionsand usage ofthese
tabpages.

Biometric Tab:

The Biometric tab displays the verification mode, 1: N Threshold and


1:1 Thresholdvaluesofthedevice.

AccessControl Tab:

The Access Control tabdisplaystheLockControlDelayvalue ofthe


device.

Mifare Tab:

The Mifare tab displays the settings of the Mifare card in the device,
including FP (fingerprint) count, sector count for FP and card key,
etc.

Wiegand Tab:

TheWiegandtabdisplaystheWiegandinputsetupandoutputsetupof
thedevice,includingthe CustomFormat,PulseWidth,PulseInterval,
Bits Count and Input Type of the Input Setup, and the Custom

Format, Pulse Width, Pulse Interval, Failed ID, Site Code and
Output Typeofthe OutputSetup.

Note: You can modify theDevice parameters (Except the parameters


ontheDeviceInfoTab.)asneededonheDevicemanagewindow,and
thenclick "SetOptions"buttontosavesettings.

5.UploadAdvertisePicture

Whenthedeviceisconnectedtotheprogram,thenyoucanuseUpload
ADPicturefunction touploadAdvertisePicturestothedevice.

The specificstepsareasfollows:

(1) Click Device Management menu on the main interface of the


program,thepopupthefollowingsubmenu:

(2) Click the Upload AD Picture submenu, the following window


popup:

A. Click the Select the Pictures tag, and then select the path of
AdvertisePicturesfilecatalog.Thenallpicturesinthiscatalogwillbe
shownonthe AD.PicturesList,shownasabove.

?Note:
(1)Theadvertisepicturefilenameformatmustbe"ad_*.jpg".The"*"
standforFigure.E.g.,picturenamedas"ad_1.jpg".

(2)Amaximumof200KBperpicture,otherwisethefollowingPrompt

B. Select picture on the AD. Picture List (Press Ctrl key to select
more.),andthenclick buttontomovethepicturetothePrepareto
uploadpictureslist,shownasbelow:

JNote: Select picture and click button on the Prepare to


upload pictures list to remove the picture, namely don't upload this
picture.

C. Click Upload the Pictures tag, the interface prompts "Select the
devicetouploadfirst,please."Shownasbelow:

a. Click to select Device on the Device list (Can select more than
one,click buttontoselectalldevicesclick button,
reverse to select the device didn't be selected right now. If Select
all/Selectnone,clickthisbuttonthenSelectnone/Selectall.).

b. Click button to upload, after succeed upload, the


detailwillbeshowninthe Uploadinfobox,shownasbelow:

?Notice: Precisely when the device is connected, can succeed


upload picture. Otherwise the interface prompts "Device is not
connecting", namely failed upload, shown as the red box circle area
above.

c. Click or button to close the Upload AD. Pictures


window andreturnto themaininterfaceoftheprogram.

6.AttendancePhotoManagement

Click Attendance Photo Management submenu under the Machine


menu bar on the main interface of this program or click Device
management>AttendancePhotoManagementtoopenthe Capture
PhotoManagementwindow:

Note:Theattendance machinewillbedisplayedintheabovelist,only
whenthemachinehasconnectedorsupport.

l Operationsoftheselecteddevice

Get the total number of the photo: Click this button to get the
sumofAttendancephotos ofalldevices,andcountthe sumofPassor
Fail.Showasbelow:

Listofthephotosgetfromthedevice:Clickthisbuttontogetall
attendancephotosinthedevice.Aftersuccessthe "GetACPhotoOver"

Tooltip will popup, and view in the "List of capture photo in the

List of the photo get by time zone: Click this button, then the
"PeriodOfTime"settingswindowwillpopup:

Set the Begin Date and End Date. (Select the time zone which you
wanttoqueryphoto.)Thenclick"OK"buttonstartgettingphoto,after
success the"Get ACPhoto Over"Tooltipwill popup, and view in the
"Listof Capturephotointhedevice"barbylist,showasbelow:

Clear all the photos: Click this button to clear all attendance
photosinthedevice.

Deletethephotobytimezone:Deletetheattendancephotointhe
timezonethatsetbyuser,thedetailoperationissameasListofphoto
getbytimezone.

l Operationsof thephotointhedevice

Downloadallthephotosinthelist:Clickthisbuttontodownloadall
photosviewinthe Listofcapturephotointhedevicetolocal.

Aftersuccessdownload,click"RefreshLocalPhotos"button,thenyou
can view the attendance photos info in the List of Capture photo at
local. Click and choose the attendance photo, then you can view this
photointhePreviewlocalphotosbox,shownasbelow:

Download the selected photos in the list: Download the photo you
chooseinthe ListofCapturephotointhedevicetolocal.

Open the photo directory: Click this button to open the attendance
photo directory,shownasbelow:

Note: "Select all", "Invert all" and "Select none" button aim at
choosingatListofCapturephotointhedevice.

2.1.2UploadandDownloadData

Thisisdataexchangingwindowsforbetweenthemanagementsoftware

and Device. The exchanging windows utility is used to download or


upload recorded data and the user's information. The following
proceduresdemonstratehowtousethewindowsutilitytodownloadand
uploaddata.Before cometooperation,connectthedevicefirst.

DownloadAttendancelog(fromDevice):Downloadallrecordswhich
havepassverificationfromtheDevice.

Download user info and FP (from Device): Download user


information, the employee's fingerprint can be downloading at same
time.

UploaduserinfoandFP (toDevice):Uploadtheuserinformationand
fingerprinttogetheratsametime.

1.DownloadattendancelogfromDevice

ItisunabletodownloaddatafromtheDeviceunlessthesystemandthe
Device are at the connection condition. Directly click Download
Attendance log menu on "Machine" bar on the left side of the main
interface or enter Device management menu and then chooses
DownloadAttendancelogsubmenu.

The system could prompt "Saving data", by now please wait for a
moment, after the completion of data downloaded, the prompts will
appear in the right side of table below, informing you that the to
downloaddatawassuccessfully,thecommunicationbetweentheDevice
andthesoftwarealreadyhasdisconnected.Thedownloadeddatashould
beaddedtothesystem,ifdataistoobigger,itispossibleneedtotake
muchmoretime.

The downloading record can completely display in the circle record


regionlikeasabovefigure.Atthesametime,thenewdatarecordwill
be stored in theemployee's record data list in the system, you will be
allowed to view it from the attendance record the new user will be
storedintheemployeeinformationtableofthesystem,itisallowedto
viewthroughtheemployee's maintenance.Afterdownloading data,the
systemstillcannotautomaticallycleardatawhichisstoredup inDevice.
If youchoosethe"DeleteLogsatDeviceafterdownloading"itemat
"Download Record" Tab (Maintenance/Options>System
Options>Downloads record), then system will automatically clear

datarecordin Device afterdownloadsuccess.

2.Downloadtheuser informationfromtheDevice

Only when the system and the Device are at the connection condition,
the downloading data is available. Directly click Download user Info
andFpmenuon"Machine"barontheleftsideofthemaininterfaceor
enterDevicemanagementmenuandthen choosesDownloaduserInfo
andFpsubmenu.

Browse Users inDevice: Click on"Browse Users in Device" button.


Fornewusers,itwilldisplayinthe"NewUser"column.Meanwhile,it
willsuggestnewusersaddedtothesystemdatabase.

Download:Whenthedatahastodirectlydownload,clickthebuttonto
downloads

Ifthereisanewuserin"NewUser"thecolumn,itwillpromptwhether
addthe newusertothesystem database.If user onthe Device werea
userwhichalreadyexistedinthesystemdatabase,thentheseuserscould
displayin"Thereisauserinthelocaldatabase"column.

Highspeeddownload:WhenthedevicewasconnectedwithEthernet,
and the data is rather much, you can use the highspeed download
functiontoincreasethetransmissionspeed.

Delete:Chooseuserwhowanttobecanceledfromthelistarea,alsocan
chooseallusers.Deletefingerprint,face,orpasswordonly,justneedto
put the tick in front of the corresponding item, then click "Delete"
button, if want to select many item record, may hold down "Ctrl" key
andclickwithmouseatsametime.

3.UploaduserinfoandFPtodevice

When it was careless of user to cancel personnel information or many


Deviceareinusetogetheratsametime,forconvenientuse,reducethe
enrolling work, the software provide to upload personnel information
fromthedatabasetomachine.

TheuploaddataoperationisunabletoexecutetillsystemandDeviceis

use U flash disk to upload or download employee's information and
fingerprint,savethesedownloadingdatainthesoftware.

Choose the System Option submenu from the Maintenance/Option


menu put tick in USB Manage in "Function Option" tab, then USB
Disk Manage in the Data menu become valid. By the way, the USB

EmployeeSchedule.

Note: Unless the employee has been assigned shift schedule, the

TheSuperAdministratormaymanageallemployeestheDepartment
Administratoronlycanmanagethisdepartmentemployee.

Super Administrator: The super administrator is highest level of


administrators in the system, the super administrator own privilege to
add, revise, delete administrator besides oneself, it is allowed to
initialize the management system and set the database. His/her default
privilege is allowed do any operation for the system. If unselect all in
theinterfaceofSetAdministrator'sPurview,thenthedefaultprivilege
will be used If only several items has been selected, then this
administrator who has the operation privilege can select the
correspondingprojectonly.

Level2Dep.Administrator:Level2Dep.administratorisallowedto
add this department administrator, and same level perhaps the low

oneself, who is not allowed to operate other departments' any

2.6AccessControl (doormanage)Setup
Access control setting is to set unlock time and assign privilege for
registered users. Settings of each user consist of three period time
settings and one group setting. Relationship between period time and
period time is "OR". Group also consists of three period time settings

Under system default, a new registered user is in Group 1 and group

unlockdoor.

2.6.1 Timezone

TimezoneisthesmallesttimeperiodunitinAccesscontrolsetting.In
whole system, you can define up to 50 time zones. Each time zone
defines7timeintervals,i.e.oneweek.Eachtimeintervalisvalidtime
periodin24hourseveryday.Eachusecansetuptothreetime zonesand
the relationship between these three time zones is "Or", which means
theuserisvalidaslongasidentificationtimesatisfiedoneofthesethree
timezones.EachtimezoneformatoftimezoneisHH:MMHH:MM,
i.e.intermof24hoursformatandprecisiontosecond.

End time less than start time "23:5723:56", means all day forbidden.

5. TroubleShooting
Thefollowingisalistoftypicaltroublesyoumaybeannoyedofatthe
beginningofworkingwithprogramandtheirsolutionaswell.

1. Due to the personnel changed, fail to enter the management


program,whatwillIdo?

Answer: The PC needs to be configured with Office2000 or a later


version, and the Access software at first. Then enter the attendance
programinstallingdirectory,lookfortheatt2000.mdbfile,doubleclick,
andfindthe"userinfo"listintheappearinterface,doubleclick,tofind
"securityflags" field, delete the identifier with the value as "15" under
thisfiled.

2.Iforgetthepasswordofdatabase,howtodo?

Answer: Enter "maintenance and setting" of management program,


clickonthe"Settingpasswordofdatabase",thenhavenoneedtoverify
oldpassword,socansetupnewpasswordofdatabase.

3.Howtousethebusinesscheckin/clockout?

Answer: When the employee needs to go out, the employee should


checkout onattendance device.Whentheemployeecomeback,select
businessclockin.

4.Whileinquireattendancerecord,selectedthehighestdepartment,
selected all employee, why cannot see record, but it's true display
thathasbeensavedtodownloadingdata?

(1)Itismaybethedatarecordtimeexpireinquiringrange,wanttoview
the original record , open the attendance database (att2000.mdb), enter
clockinout list, can see all original record, prove that original
attendance record is in the range which you inquire, specifically pay
attentionyear.

(2) It is maybe that add a highest department again after the general
company name was canceled, installing finish, the default highest
department general company can not be cancel, but it is able to be
modifyintheattendancerule.

5.I haveassignedshift, why notheresultofaccountandstatistics


indicateleave, comeslate,goneearly?

Answer: First enter management to check the setup shift, in normal


condition the name of shift corresponding time period display that
appearinblue colorinrighttimebox,if thereisn'tany problem,enter
employeeshiftlist,viewthestartingdateofemployeeshift,thestarting
dateisbeyondtheaccountandstatisticstimerange,isn'tit?,ifit isn't,
assignshiftagain,fixnew startingdate.

6.Howtocancelthescheduleswhichhavebeensetup?

Answer: You can add an empty schedule firstly, then use the empty
schedule replace the schedule which will be canceled in employee
assignment, enter schedule management to cancel corresponding
schedule,OK.

7. Why the data which is stored record is fewer than loaded down
datawhileintheprocesstodownloadalldata?

Answer: While loaded down and record, the attendance program can

determine loaded down record, the repeat record will be cancel


automaticallythestoredrecordwillnotbestoreagain.

8. Whytheloadedrecordappear,butcannotfinditwhileinquireit?

Answer:Confirmtimerangeyouinquireisaccordwithattendancetime
of loaded record, or it's not. can check attendance record day, month,
year, after loaded down record, or open database (att2000.mdb), enter
checkout/clockin,canseealloriginrecord,confirmtimeofattendance
original record is within the range of acquirement, pay attention years
record specifically, some independence equipment set time is not real,
resultinattendancerecordtimeisn'tcorrect.

9.WhyIattendancenormally,butitisshowIstayawayfromwork
withoutleaveorgoodreason?

Answer: Examine your period time setting first, confirm your


attendance record is among the range of clockout time, example, you
setup the clockout time is from 17: 00 to 18: 00, you clockout time
recordis16:30,sothattherecordisinvalid,systemwillindicateneglect
afternoon (in attendance rule, no clockout is neglect) next, examine
youattendancetimeiscorrect,orit'snot.

10. Why there are come late and gone early in the attendance
account and statistics shift, but there aren't their records in
inquiringrecord?

Answer:Pleaseexaminethesettingofattendanceaccountinattendance

sign or have not, if it has been labeled so that the neglect system will

11. Leaders of company don't require clockinout, but their


attendancedemandaccount,howdoittoset?

Answer:

(1)Enter attendance setting under employee maintenance, cancel valid


attendance

(2) Set up a period time of unnecessary to clockinout, produce a


schedule,theschedule isusedtoaccountwithemployee.
