Objective

Identify distribution of tractors in the Indian tractor market from the year 1990-91 to 2004-
05.

Justification

As the data is on Ratio Scale so we will use line graph, bar graph and histogram to analyze
the data.

From above graphs we see that the tractor industry was booming in early 2000s but has
dropped down a bit since then.

Maximum sale was of 286000 tractors in 2000-2001 and Minimum sale was of 138000
tractors in 1993-1994.

Also, we see that 40% of the sales lie below 212000 whereas 60% of them lie above 212000.

Objective

To identify the leading players in the Indian tractor market from the year 1990-91 to 2004-05.

Justification

As the data is Nominal so we use Frequency Distribution Table and Pie Chart to solve above
objective.

Interpretation

From above graph we see that the maximum market share is with M&M i.e. 27% and
minimum is of MGTL i.e. 1%.

Interpretation

In terms of HP ratings of engine, tractors between 31-40 hp engines have the highest market
share of 56% and tractors having engine rating less than 20 hp have the lowest market share
of 0.3%.

To identify market segmentation in the Indian tractor market from the year 1990-91 to 2004-
05 based on regions.

Justification

As this is the data on the Nominal Scale we will use Bar graph and Pie chart to solve the
above objective.

Interpretation

From Above graphs we see that the maximum sale is in Northern India i.e. 54% where the
primary source of income is Agriculture and Lowest Share of sale is 7% it is in Eastern India.
