The concepts for this lessons are to learn the sight words provided
The students will know the objectives because they will be introduce to it for a week
The students will know the relevance and purpose of this lesson plan as needed to read books and communicate
with others
Students by know are familiar with Star fall and PowerPoint presentations and will be using these to continue
learning
Students will have one on one time with the teacher to receive feedback on their learning
Students will build their knowledge progressively.

The Depth of knowledge students will experience is the beginning of sight word exposure
Students will be using flashcards as well as using a power Point slide downloaded in each of the computers in the
computer center. Students with limited learning will work with the teacher aid in class
Students will be challenged as they show increase vocabulary and will be introduced to new words

The skills developed will be of beginning reading for kindergarten. They will demonstrate logic by using the sounds of the
vocabulary words they have learned
Students will get a chance to use the whiteboard as well as concept maps for continuous learning
They will share personal reading experiences with their parents and talk about the words found in the books they have read
Students are paired up and will help each other with the reading and understanding of sight words. They will get a
worksheets and circle five words written as they play find the sight word

Students will be creating a mini book with the first five sight words and take it home for further understanding and
reflection
They will share their progress with parents at home by using the worksheets provided
Students will revise their learning by practicing on the IPad and trying to not only pass those first five sight words but also
to learn the next five.

Students were given a sight word quiz of all first 25 and it showed that 95% were not familiar with the first ten on so I will
present the first five and so
on
There is parent involvement, classmate participation, teacher one on one and worksheets as evidence of learning
Students will get their worksheets graded and also one on ones to show them their progress and receive feedback
Instructional adjustments will be made for those students that do not understand the first five and will receive additional
one on one with teacher aid or teacher or will be also recommended for reading centers with additional instructional
coaches
Homework will be in the way of games used by the programs purchased through the administration as well as continues
use of star fall, iPad at home, and worksheets. Parents will also use the interactive kahoot.it game build with a picture of
the sight words already learn. Each question will have a sight word missing a letter where they will in turn select the right
answer to the spelling out the whole word.
Parents will evaluate child using www.surveymonkey.com and provide teacher with feedback.
The lesson will close by doing a word wall with pictures of all our students presenting their first 5 words
The lesson will continuously be reviewed because as we move to additional sight words, they will repeat all the ones
learned.
