VCE SITE READINESS ASSESSMENT

SERVICE
OVERVIEW
VCE Site Readiness Assessment Service provides experts to
verify that all required Layer 1 physical infrastructure items
are in place, properly installed, and correctly configured at
your data center in preparation for the arrival of VCE
converged infrastructure systems. The service is
recommended as a first step for all new VCE converged
infrastructure to ensure a smooth, efficient deployment and
successful operations.
The service also includes a network assessment for Cisco
ACI-ready Nexus 40GE switches in your VCE converged
infrastructure, if you plan to use the 40GE capability. The
40GE assessment evaluates the current cabling infrastructure
to future 40GE requirements, verifying adequate pathway
capacity, and testing existing fiber connectivity.

At the end of the analysis, VCE determines whether the data
center is ready and prepared to receive VCE converged
infrastructure systems. VCE documents all findings, including

VCE can integrate the site readiness assessment into the
overall VCE converged infrastructure deployment schedule.
Key areas of analysis include determining whether there is
sufficient space for the VCE infrastructure and physical access
to the systems, as well as whether the raised flooring will
support the weight requirements. Power, cooling, and
network connectivity are also reviewed to learn whether
existing infrastructure will meet specific VCE converged
infrastructure standards.
