Technical Visit to Sg. Segget Centralized Sewerage

Treatment Plant (CSTP) Project
Date : 18th May 2017 (Thursday)
Venue : CSTP Site Office, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak Susur 1/1, Wadi Hana, Johor Bahru.
Participants are advised to assemble at IEM Secretariat Office, 24B Jalan
Abiad,Taman Tebrau Jaya, Johor Bahru at 8.15 am .Bus transportation to
CSTP will be provided by IEM (SB).

Attire : Participants are required to wear safety shoes (This is strictly

compulsory).

Synopsis
Sg. Segget sewerage has a catchment area covering approximately 3.6 km2 with a length of
3.8 km. This stretches from Kebun Teh right across Taman Century and Johor Bahru City
Centre before it flows to Tebrau Street.
Sg. Segget sewerages catchment is divided into 3 Catchment Areas particularly Catchment
Area 1 (inclusive of Johor Bahru City Centre), Catchment Area 2 (inclusive of Wadi Hana, Wadi
Hassan, Bukit Ungku Aziz and Bukit Saujana) and Catchment Area 3 (inclusive of Ulu Ayer
Molek).
Currently, the existing Population Equivalent (PE) of the downstream area is approximately
88,198 PE and it is forecasted to increase and additional 58,543 PE for future development
summing a total 146,741 PE for the overall catchment area.

Sg. Segget Transformation Programme consist of 3 packages which is Package 1: Construction

of Centralized Sewerage Treatment Plant (CSTP) and Main Sewer Trunk, Package 2: New Open
Channel, Flood Mitigation System and Main Sewer Trunk where Package 3: Landscaping Work
along Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Johor Bahru.
The objective of this Technical Visit is to gain insight and knowledge on the construction of
Centralized Sewerage Treatment Plant (CSTP) as well as the Operation and Maintenance
aspect of a CSTP to give an exposure to young and fellow practicing engineers to understand
the concept of Total Project Life Cycle.
We are pleased to invite all members to participate in this activity. Details of the visit are listed as

This visit is strictly limited to 25 participants only. Registration will be on a first-come-first-
serve basis REGISTRATION IS CONFIRMED ONLY WITH PAYMENT RECEIVED. Kindly
return the reply to the IEM (SB) office before 12th May 2017 together with a non-refundable
commitment fee of RM60.00 per person (RM100.00 for non-IEM members) and made
payable to The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Southern Branch) . Alternatively,
you could bank-in the Commitment Fees into the Institutions Maybank Current Account (No.
5-013920-15708) and to facsimile the bank-in slip as well as the Reply Slip to the Institution.
Please note that the fees must be settled in advance prior to the visit. Please also be
reminded that if a place is reserved and the intended participant failed to attend the visit, the
