friends and they guess what is this item) after guessing, the child show it to his
friends and then take the card that has the picture of the item and then put it
using the magnet on the whiteboard.
The child would say the word out loud and his friends should repeat it after him
to make sure they get the correct spelling.
I will show the students how to write letter D on the board the capital and
small form and then I will ask them to write it on the ceiling and on their legs.
After that I will call some students to write the letter on the board.
Introduce the learning centres activities for the students and then send them
to their tables.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1)
Students will form words that start with the letter d using blocks that are
labelled with letters. A block that can hold 3 small blocks will be labelled with
the word and they should search for the letters on the small blocks to put them
on the big block to form the word.
Independent Experience(small group activity 2)
Students will have laminated a4 paper that has the letter D d on it. Students
will trace the letter D using play dough.
Independent Experience(small group activity 3)
Students will use yarn string to trace the cut out D shape that has holes in it by
putting the yarn inside each hole until they finish the D shape.
Independent Experience(small group activity 4)
Students will have an a4 paper that has the letter D on it. They will use some
torn papers and will stick them on the letter D

I will ask the students: what was the new letter we learned today?
What sound does it make?
Can someone show me how do we write letter D?
I will revise the picture cards with the students and ask them to name them.
Assessment
Time:
While students are working in the learning centres I will ask them about the sound the
letter makes and I will observe how they are doing their activities.
If the students finished from the learning activities and we had time left I will let the
students write the letter D in a worksheet to train on how to write it.
Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing
An English lesson and the students will be able to read and write the letter D.
Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for?
KG2 students
Where did the lesson take place?
KG2 B classroom
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
To teach the students to read and write letter D
What did the students do?
The students were interacting positively with me.
Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
The students were interacting positively because I used a reward system with
marbles which they liked so much and they wanted to get the rewards.
Another reason is that they liked the lesson and activities.
How well did your teaching relate to the students prior
understanding?
I revised the previous letters the students learned and the I asked them
about different items or objects that start with the letter D.
How well did you engage the students?
The students were engaged very well because we did a music and movement
performance at the beginning of the lesson. That made them able to sit for
the carpet time and then they moved to their activities and they took the
exact time I had for them for working on the activities.
Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students perspective
The students liked the lesson and the activities were appropriate for their age
and needs. However one activity wasnt so appropriate because I used paper
and it torn out so for the next time I would use cardboard paper.
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
I met my teaching goals.
