1.0 Introduction
The specifications for the construction of Mars rover is contained in this document. According to
these specifications the contractors of your company will be able to successfully construct the
mars rover to the standards provided in the client brief.
2.0 Dimensions summary

All of the definite dimensions of the rover should be referred from the design package. A
summary of the dimensions is given the table below.

4.0 Construction Sequence

4.1 Car Body Base

Obtain material used for the body and visually inspect for any flaws. Saw off both sides of
the PVC pipe. By using the dimensions mentioned in the drawing (drawing number), make
several incisions using specialized tools according to the model scale provided. After that,
using a saw, cut a hole on top of the PVC pipe compliance to the dimensions provided in
drawing(drawing no.). Next, obtain a sponge and place it in the front and back ends of the
pipe to secure the load in place. Lastly, by using tape, tape the ends of the pvc pipe (i.e. the
base body) until the opened area is enclosed.

4.2 Car Wheels
Obtain the material used for the wheel according to the dimensions given and inspect for any
flaws visually to ensure maintenance. Drill a clear hole similar to the diameter of the axle,
straight through the centre and carefully attach the wheel to the axle. Use a bolt to lock the
wheel in place preventing further risks of the wheel falling off.

4.3 Car Axle

By using a drill, drill a clean hole through the PVC base on one side and once again on the
side parallel to it, it should be big enough to fit an axle through the lower body of the base.
Drill the area according to the diameter of the axle shown in the diagram and slip the axle
through the area cut previously. Before pushing the axle through the second hole, attach two
bolts to the axle to secure both sides from within the PVC base. Drill similar holes on the
other end of the PVC pipe and push another axle through, adding two bolts as well.

1.0 Introduction
Tender Evaluation Criteria (TEC) is a tender that will be used to evaluate other companies
design and material criteria in order to build a a prototype Mars Lander/Rover. This tender
also contains evaluation of the communication and time management of the other
companies. The company that satisfies all of the criteria will get the highest possible marks
and will be the winning tenderer.

2.0 Tender Evaluation Criteria

2.1 Understanding of the Design:

Design is a drawing or an arrangement/plan created to demonstrate the look and purpose

or workings of a construction/car before it is constructed or made. Thus, team that
follows all the specifications and exhibits creativity and neat design of car will be given
a high mark. The following table

2.2 Time Management:

Time management is the ability to plan and control the number of hours spend on each
task. It is important to complete the project before or on the deadline. Team that can
complete the task few days before deadline will get a higher mark.

2.3 Cost :

Cost is the expenditure of money used to obtain or buy an object. In every project, it is
very important complete the project aligned with the cost. So, marks will be given based
on the percentage of the total cost of materials.

2.4 Communication:

Communication is the process of exchanging information and ideas between two teams
or more. Type of communication can include text message or e-mail. Hence, it is
important for both team to communicate each other so that a lot of information can be
swapped.

2.5 Team Responsiveness :

Team responsiveness is the team ability to react in each task/problem assigned to the
other team. Hence, the team should respond quickly and brilliantly in each problem in
order to obtain a higher mark.

1.0 Introduction
Risk Matrix is divided into three parts which is design, construction and testing. The
matrix contains risk, hazard, mitigation and residual risk. High level of risk is more
prominent and furthermore, may need more safety precaution to handle the risk. Each
part contains five risks. All the risks are provided in the tables.
