It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter of recommendation

for Trang Vu. During the 2015-2016 school year, I taught Trang in AP
Calculus in which she excelled. Based on my experience with Trang,
she is most definitely a hard working student who has a natural
aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving. She is remarkably
well prepared for the university level, and it is apparent to me that she
will find success in college and beyond. Trangs ability to solve
problems was her greatest quality when discovering new concepts
such as differentiation, integration, and their applications. When a new
topic was introduced she was often the first student to volunteer in
completing example problems showing her ability to learn new
concepts quickly and her exemplary problem solving skills. She
visualized a clear goal, followed procedures carefully, applied previous
concepts, and provided detailed solutions with little or no error on most
occasions. This natural ability of problem solving was her catalyst for
motivation resulting in excellent test scores. Trang completed the
course ranking 1st out of 13 students and received college credit for
passing the AP exam, which is impressive given the demanding nature
of Calculus.

Her hard work did not go unnoticed as many students sought her help
during independent practice. It became a regular procedure for
students to check their answers with Trang knowing that her work was
usually correct. If a student did not understand how she completed a
certain problem she articulated her procedure carefully and accurately
and, likewise, sought assistance when she was challenged. Trangs
contributions to the understanding of difficult concepts and the
understanding of the importance of collaborative learning convinced
me that Trang is a team player.

I am very confident that the skills she has displayed in Calculus will
continue to affect the students around her and prepare her for a
successful college career. I am certain that Trang is ready to tackle the
rigorous and challenging curriculum of the collegiate level. Trang will
push herself to continue to grow and develop as a critical thinker and
problem solver. She will immerse herself in her new community and
she will share her enthusiasm, work ethic, and commitment with her
professors and fellow students. Trang Vu is an exceptional candidate
and it is with confidence that I recommend her to your college or
