three concepts or topics that you feel will be most helpful to you as you continue your
studies in interior design.

I learned that there is a difference in residential and commercial materials. Flooring has a lot higher
traffic in commercial so it needs to be a lot more durable than residential. You can put commercial
grade flooring in a residence but it doesnt really work the other way around.

I also am a lot more aware of how many products are offered that are considered a green product
which I am very interested as a designer to be using. There are so many points possible for LEED credits
Im definitely interested in learning further about it. When I start to design homes I want to educate my
clients about all the possible products that can be used in the home.

I came across several websites in my research for this class that I took note of. I was impressed with so
many of the products available such as US Rubber using recycled tires to reduce the impact in landfills.
The options of green flooring and countertops for residences was a lot broader than I thought. Cork and
bamboo flooring or wall coverings look really great and I will refer back to these websites for other
projects for sure in the future.
