A Shepherd's View
Congratulations!! Happy
Anniversary! Each year we
celebrate this Fourth Sunday of
Easter the Mass of the Good
Shepherd and from this
perspective we celebrate the
anniversary of our Parish! THREE
years as a Parish which is
growing more in love with the
Lord!! How proud I am to be
the Shepherd of this flock! No matter where I go peo-
ple come up to me and say, "I hear your parish is
growing and doing well!" How true that is. From a
house church saying Mass in a living room and dining
room to renting in Island Heights and to then find this
location on Whitesville Road,,,,what a journey, what
faith, what love!!!
Over 14 years ago, when I moved to Ocean County I
unboxed a large picture and it was the
Good Shepherd. I was so unsure where I should place
it, so I put it in the middle of the living room over the
fireplace so that everyday whether going in or coming
out I may reflect on the Good Shepherd. Never did I
imagine that I'd be the Pastor of a church CALLED
Good Shepherd! Now, I think it was truly meant to be.
I always pray that I, as a sheep, may always follow the
voice of the Good Shepherd who loves me and cares
for me, provides and sustains me....more than I could
EVER imagine! I, also, look at the picture and pray that
I may always guide and take care of the flock
entrusted unto me. Sometimes I have "to prod and
push" and other times I need to run after a lost sheep.
But these past three years have been so marvelous to
me!
May you and I always follow the Voice of the Good
Shepherd. May we listen attentively when God needs
to push and prod us. May we always be aware of the
Good Shepherd's love! Happy Anniversary!
