Prior Knowledge (What knowledge are you building on?)
- Students already know the difference between are and is, but they need to practice
writing and describing things using there is/are.
Lesson Objectives: at the end of this lesson, the learners will be able to:
Speaking: To chant the story and describe things by saying there is/are.
Lesson Activities:
Engagement:
The wheels on the bus storybook
Core:
Flashcards
PowerPoint
Group work activity (write there is/are and match the words according to the story
pictures on A3 papers).
Plenary:
Individual exit tickets (write sentences by using there is/are to describe the picture).
Plan B: write and draw a sentence from the classroom using there is/are on a sticker.
Evaluation / Assessment: (How will you know your students have achieved the goal?)
- My observations during the story reading, group and individual activities, I will
move around and look at their work and check at each group. And I will try to find out
these questions: Did the students conceptualized the grammar there is/are? How
successful were the students in completing the activity?
- From the individual worksheets, I will check this question: How close did the
students come to achievement of the objectives?
