The following are examples of the more common citations. When in doubt your final word is the Chicago
Manual of Style, the official website, and your professor.

General Rule: When no author is available, begin the citation with the title of the article (book, etc.).
Section and page numbers for the Chicago Manual of Style are given for each example when
available.

Periodicals (Journals, Magazines, and Newspapers)

Citing a Secondary Source

It is always best to use the original source.

Ask for assistance at the Reference Desk in
Haggard 2, when you need help locating an
original work. It may be found in a collection
or anthology or you may be able to get the
resource through Summit or Interlibrary
Loan.
If an original source is not available, mention
the original author and date in the text of your
work, and cite the secondary source in the
reference list.
