Are you angered by political tweets? This might be why

At the Spring Undergraduate Research Forum

Sara Mad-jr-sack presents on, Virtual Incivility: The Democratic Consequences of Rude

Politicians on Twitter. Mad-jr-sack is looking to see if rude political tweets affect the way

citizens talk to representatives.

Mad-jr-sack became interested in researching the topic,

leading up to the election, while interning at a senators office I was constantly yelled at by

angry citizens over the phone. Even if I told them their senator felt the same way, they still

would yell at me. I then wondered if there was a correlation between citizens view of politicians

tweets and the way they speak to representatives.

Mad-jr-sack surveyed 600 people and is analyzing the results.
