Chase and Status (No More Idols)
Blind Faith ft. Liam Bailey
3:54
MTA RECORDS
Audience: 5,750,927 views
This is a persons life towards self-destruction it will be a person
walking towards a bank but the story is how the person got
himself towards his own self destruction. Its will end with him at
the bank door. Has he gone in or hasn't he.

I want to do idea 2 because it will be more interesting to film

and this will work a lot better with the lyrics and visuals.
I would want to do idea 1 because I play on boys and girls
conventions of getting ready so would just be fun to film.
I chose to do idea 2 only because it will be more interesting to
watch also more interesting to film as I can make this idea look
better than the other idea as more scenes and emotions can be
put into idea 2.
From my survey I can see that idea 2 is a much better idea than idea 1 because
everyone who did my survey has answered with idea 2. This is good because this
was the idea I wanted to do as it would look a lot better than idea 1.
This will help me to create the video so it meets the audiences requirements as
this is the age on the music.

I ask this question in my feedback to find out some stuff I could include on as
they have a different view on the person than I do.
This just helps me include some stuff that I never would have thought about to
make the video look that much better.
My idea in detail
Its going to start off with a modern montage of photos back when his life was
good to establish he used to have a good life this will be the introduction to the
music video. After the montage it will be the person on his way towards the bank
then it will flash back to when he lost his job so a scene of him being fired from
his job in front of the boss. Then he will be walking closer to the bank. Then it will
cut back to another flashback for when he cant pay for the bills so a close up of
the rent paper and bills. Then he will be walking closer to the bank starting to but
his hoodie over. Then it will flashback again to him getting thrown out his home
because he cant pay for the house. Then he will be walking closer to the bank
when he pulls up his balaclava. Then it will flashback again to him breaking up
with his girlfriend. Then he will be walking closer to the bank from a different
view. Then he goes out with his friends and his friends lose respect for him
because of something he did. Then he will be walking closer to the bank from a
different view. Then he meets new friends that are in the wrong crowd and his
new mates giving him jobs and easy cash. Then he will be walking closer to the
bank when he starts to pull a gun out of his trousers. Then its flashbacks to when
they are planning the bank heist then it comes back to him standing outside the
bank.
Target audience

This is duke Dumonts wont look back

This is a similar video because although its after the robbery it still has a similar
feel to the way Im going to be filming my video. As I would like it to have a
similar feel towards the video. The target audience for my video will be at a
similar audience to duke Dumonts. This music video ignores a common narrative
to create something unique and fresh for a music video. This is done by its total
lack of relation to the lyrics. This is the only difference to mine because Im
creating something that is meant for the lyrics. The target audience would be
from the age of 15 and probably going up to the age of 30. Its quite a young fast
beat that wouldnt suit the older generation. The gender for chase and status
would mostly be male but with a few females interested in chase and status. The
social economic status for this song would be E, D, C2, and C1 this is because it
will appeal to students because of the fast up beat music but because it meets
the generic conventions of a pop song it goes all the way through to C1. Of
because its a mix of both and not just drums and bass on their own. The
technical aspects of the video work very well alongside the song as the visuals
and the editing are timed with the songs pace. This is done through the use of
camera work, as the cuts are often timed with the transitions in music. Although
a fast paced song, the use of slow motion as a visual effect works well with the
audible music. Also, the choice of location, a deprived area of the city,
presumably in America, links well to the incontrollable behaviour of the masked
figures. This type of behaviour may be more expected in that kind of area.
Rudimental waiting all night
This is a similar music video to mine because it like a modern montage of when a
rider lost one of his legs and its his life story of being able to ride his BMX again.
This is the technique I want to be using in my music video because it tells the
story in such a good way to shows the emotion and keeps the story interesting
for the audience and also makes it flow that much nicer. The editing in this music
video creates an atmosphere as there are a lot of fast cuts which speeds up the
video and the pace of the journey which gives the effect on the audience that the
mans life is getting better. The camerawork that is used creates an atmosphere
with the fish eye lens and medium close-ups which show the journey day by day.
Close ups that are used on the BMXs wheels, this focuses on the journey and
links with the upbeat pace. The target audience would be from the age of 15 and
probably going up to the age of 30. Its quite a young fast beat that wouldnt suit
the older generation. The gender for chase and status would mostly be male but
with a few females interested in chase and status. The social economic status for
this song would be E, D, C2, and C1 this is because it will appeal to students
because of the fast up beat music but because it meets the generic conventions
of a pop song it goes all the way through to C1. Of because its a mix of both and
not just drums and bass on their own. This song is very similar when it comes to
the audience of the song as it is target at the same audience because of the
editing and how fast the pace is of the song.
Figures
BARB - are the Broadcasters Audience Research Board have been delivering the
official viewing figures for UK television audiences. We commission research
companies Ipsos MORI, Kantar Media and RSMB to collect data that represent the
viewing behaviour of the UKs 26 million TV households. They offer a minute by
minute breakdown of viewing at regional and national levels. This information is
vital for assessing how programmes, channels or advertising campaigns have
performed and provides the basis for airtime advertising trading.
ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation), the industry body for media measurement. We
inspire market confidence by delivering a valued stamp of trust across the media
world. Our Board includes representatives from advertisers, media agencies,
media owners and trade bodies. They represent the differing interests of the
media industry and meet regularly to agree new standards for industry data and
processes and to agree the strategy for ABC as an organisation.
Rajar - RAJAR stands for Radio Joint Audience Research and is the official body in
charge of measuring radio audiences in the UK. It is jointly owned by the BBC
and the Radio centre on behalf of the commercial sector.
CAA The UK Government requires that our costs are met entirely from charges
to those we provide a service to or regulate. Most aviation regulation and policy
is harmonised across the world to ensure consistent levels of safety and
consumer protection. Worldwide safety regulations are set by the International
Civil Aviation Organisation and within Europe by the European Aviation Safety
Agency.
ELSPA (the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) is the
trade association for video games publishers in the UK. ELSPA was formed in
1989 to establish a specific and collective identity for the countrys video games
industry and has grown to its current membership to almost 60 companies.
Chart track - Since then we have established an unparalleled reputation for fast
and accurate retail research in the home entertainment market. In July 2008 GfK
took a majority stake in the company and in January 2012 acquired the
remaining shares to take full ownership of the company.
Chase n status blind faith got 5,750,927 views this is quite a lot of views for a
drums and bass song. This is quite a lot of views for a song like this because it
doesnt meet normal conventions for a pop song so for a track like this to get this
many view is very impressive. Duke Dumonts wont look back got 29,477,906
views this is because the song meets normal conventions but just put a smaller
twist on it so its still very pop chart music. Because the song was more pop
more people enjoyed the song because it wasnt for a smaller audience. But
wont look back was made for everyone to enjoy because of how generic and
only had a small twist on it to make it close to a drums and bass song.

As you can see that blind faith did not do to well in the charts because people
how listen to chart music dont like to listen to drums and bass. Duke Dumonts
wont look back was at number 1 for weeks and sold over 200,000 singles but
because it followed the conventions and didnt make the track to heavy this is
why people liked the track.
Because blind faith wasnt aimed at the charts official I will aim it at the actual
target audience by releasing it on social networking to get the people that would
be interested in it interested as all the people on charts officials wont like it
because it not what they are looking for. And I would play it at upcoming events
to get the people that like the music hear it first.
Camera angles

This video is very similar to the video I will be creating because Im going to a
similar editing and similar story because its a fast paced song you need to do
the editing to the beat to make the video flow well with the video. I will be using
some slow motion scene like they used in duke Dumonts to make some scene
work really well. In many parts of the music video, the tempo matches well with
what is happening on the screen as well as the transition between shots; the
editing keeps in time with the music. The style of the music can be closely linked
to other music videos where the main characters hold a care free and rebellious
attitude. This has nothing to do with the lyrics for the video, instead the rhythm
of the music is depicted through what is happening on the screen. This music
video ignores a common narrative to create something unique and fresh for a
music video. This is done by its total lack of relation to the lyrics. From the lyrics
alone it would be expected that the clip would be about a woman in love,
however this is not the case at all. Despite this, the narrative is clear and easy to
follow, three men in masks of political figures causing trouble and being chased
by a policeman. The parody of a police chase is demonstrated by the fact that
they are on pogo sticks and being chased by a policeman on a Segway. It is an
amusing video, but has no symbolic connection to the lyrics. Instead it ties in
well with the fast paced rhythm of the music.
Most of the camera angles used in this music video are POV shots or hand held
shots. These denote that this is based on a real story as these camera angles put
us in the shoes of those close to the man who had the accident making it all feel
more real. The camera has been mounted to the bike in order to create this shot.
Camera work is very important in a video such as this which tells a story. This is
because the camera work affects the way the story is told and how easy to
understand it is. The video makes good use of showing all the characters and
signifying their roles in the video. By the end of the video the audience is
comfortable with all the main characters. The editing in this music video creates
an atmosphere as there are a lot of fast cuts which speeds up the video and the
pace of the journey which gives the effect on the audience that the mans life is
getting better. The camerawork that is used creates an atmosphere with the fish
eye lens and medium close-ups which show the journey day by day. Close ups
that are used on the BMXs wheels, this focuses on the journey and links with the
upbeat pace. The only real relationship between the song and the video is the
fact that the genre of the song is drum and bass which is very high pace and has
a lot of beats per minute and of course this runs parallel the fast riding of the
BMX. Ella Eyres singing helps focus on the inspirational side.
The market needs a production like mine because no one has really done a video
like mine as they always do it when the done the action or crime but mine is at
the beginning before the crime to show how someone has got them self to this
point and why they are doing what they are doing or about to do. Also the chase
n status would like a video like this because all of their videos are quite chilled
and arent really that popular with because that dont like the music that much
wont even watch the video but say you make a really interesting video it would
open them up to a new audience which will get them more views.

Glamour to crime
Within my video I am creating a video that is leading towards a crime. So I must
create the video in a way that doesnt make the crime look glamours. So by
having him rotting in a prison at the beginning to show crime isnt a good thing
to do and shouldnt be done. Throughout the video may look like fun and
something cool to do but as you see at the beginning its worth doing. And you
dont see him rob the bank so its up to you to think if he robbed the bank or not.
