PENGARUH LIFE REVIEW THERAPY TERHADAP TINGKAT STRES

Background: Data in Indonesia is estimated at about 50 million or 25% of the
220 million people experience mental illness .So also in South Kalimantan from Riskesdas then show the prevalence of severe mental disorders at the highest in South Kalimantan Borneo that is 3.9 per thousand population. Subsequently followed by Central Kalimantan which is 2.5 per thousand population, West Kalimantan as 1.5 per thousand population and East Kalimantan of 1.3 per thousand population. People who are elderly are vulnerable populations are susceptible to stress. Life review therapy is a method that is associated with the memory of the past, is useful for improving mental health and quality of life of the elderly. Objective: This study aimed to reduce levels of stress in the elderly in the village of Sei Ulin district. North Banjarbaru South Kalimantan. This research uses experimental research methods, by using the research design is quasi-experimental design pretest-posttest control group design with a number of sample of 30 elderly people were divided into two groups: 15 people the intervention group and 15 control group. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The analysis will be done by statistical test Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample t-Test. Results: The stress level of the elderly in the intervention group decreased significantly after the interventions in the form of Life Review Therapy p = 0.02 (0.02<0.05), and the control group (p > 0.005) Statistical test results both groups after the post-test showed that there were significant differences. Conclusion: Life Review Therapy effect can significantly increase the lower the level of stress in the elderly in the village of Sei Ulin district. Banjarbaru northern province of South Kalimantan. Hopefully with the research I have done can increase understanding of the community to make life review therapy as a method to reduce the level of stress that often occurs in the elderly.
