To whom it may concern,

I am excited to have you viewing my portfolio in response to elementary job

openings. I am an advocate and believer that all students have the innate curiosity
and desire to learn. My personal beliefs as a teacher coincide with modern outlooks
on education; such as inquiry-based learning, a student-centered classroom, and
inspiring all children to find a passion in learning. As a Boettcher Resident, I had the
unique opportunity to experience the culture of this district for an entire year. My
passion and belief that all students are capable of greatness would lend itself
greatly to your district. My belief about children also drives my instruction; focusing
on student achievement, growth, and high expectations.

One of my greatest assets is my residency with Boettcher. This experience allowed

me to grow as an educator throughout an entire school year. I was able to see my
students grow as learners and as human beings throughout our 9 months together.
My students were able to witness me grow as an educator as well. Throughout my
residency year, I have gained a strong sense of myself as a teacher. I know that
even the most closed-off and quiet students can still be reached with persistence
and dedication. The relationships I built with my 3 rd graders are ones that will last a
lifetime; and for some of them, I know that they will remember me too.

I am a promoter of the growth-mindset. It is my responsibility to give my students

the support, strategies, and confidence that they will need to be high-achieving and
prosperous adults. I know that when entering a classroom of 28 students, I have to
take 28 individuals into consideration when planning and instructing. I advocate
that learning to understand is a key component to student growth and success.
Understanding takes time; and there is always more than one way to understand.
There could be 28 different ways to understand. It is my job to adhere to students
different learning styles, learning progressions, and personalities.

Students are all capable of brilliance. I have high-expectations for all my students
regardless of ability. Students need to be presented with challenging tasks so that
they can achieve their greatest potential. Students also need to be taught how to
think. Teaching students thinking strategies and different ways to access content
material will give them the chance to overcome confusion and challenging
problems; both inside of the classroom and out.

The Boettcher Teacher Residency has provided me with the tools and tactics to
thrive and inspire as an educator. I know that I can motivate my students as much
as they can motivate me. I want the opportunity to inspire a child every single day.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to review my resume. I look forward to the
opportunity to share my insights with you and the district hiring committee.
