IfIwonaplaceinarealityshow,ofcourseIneverwouldgoinanycase.Iwouldnt
beabletolivewithalotofstrangersonthestageinfrontofthecamerasfor24hours,
dayandnight,controlledbythebigbrother.
Firstly I couldnt renounce to my private life, my intimacy and my affective
relations.Ineedmyroom,myhouse,myfreedom,myfriends,myworld,arealworld
not a world made for peoples curiosity and show business. I couldnt survive this
strange, awful, apparently glamourous prison. Money couldnt convince me and a
hypotheticalsuccessisntmygoal,reallytobesuccessfulisnotmycupoftea.
Iveseenarealityshowonceortwiceinmylife,Iusuallypreferotherformatsor
films and I generally dont like television with its lies, rhetoric and false reality, Im
obliged to know reality shows by mass media and, sometimes, by newspapers. In my
opinion its a place where people are bossy, stupid, competitive, badmannered,
cheating, irresponsible, without dignity, maybe they are actors, actresses or simply
performerswellpaid,butthereareotherwaystoearnaliving.
FinallyIthinkthatthisunbearableprocessofidiocyofItaliansdepends,notatall,
butinalargepart,alsoonthiskindofformatexaltedbymediaandaudience.Reality
showswiththeircharacters,games,words,votes,confessions,sexualtripsisthemirror
ofourculturalandexpressivepoverty,maybeitisanopenwindowonthiscountryand
other European countries, interesting for a sociological document or essay, not for an
ethicaloraestheticresearch.
