Connecting the separation plant and the drilling head, there is Slurry Line
to provide transport for the excavated material and maintain the pressure
for the soil stability.
Depending on the depth, the length of the drives, the diameter of the
pipes, humidity and presence of gases, ventilation can be required to
provide appropriate conditions into the tunnel.

JACKING PIPE
Must be installed at the launching shaft with visual contact to the jacking
frame and tunnel gate. Alternative option for pipe installation in short
drives and small diameters are mobile cranes (reduce installation time).
Concrete pipes are used in most of the drives, but polymer pipes are also
used. The pipe must resist the jacking forces as wells as earth changes
with time.
These are used when the distances between shafts is bigger than 100m
to down the friction forces. This way the jacking force required is reduced
to a minimum and the jacking of the tunnel is divided in steps.

Essential:
To know the geology with the purpose of adapting the TBM and if necessary
anticipate possible changes of the cutting tools with water presence.
Adapt the route to assure minimum coating of the structure of the pipe.
Essential:
Design the tube sealing. Arpon joints and block joints between tubes.
For the durability of the tube, the reinforcement and type of concrete.

Essential:
Injectors at 120 every 10 meters for a correct lubrication injection.
For tunnels of great length you have to consider the possibility of using
double joints, and or emergencies joints.
DOUBLE JOINTS
These are used when the distances between shafts is bigger than 100m to down the
friction forces. This way the jacking force required is reduced to a minimum and the
jacking of the tunnel is divided in steps.
With active joint and for tunnels of great length with grease and bentonie double
injectors.
Once evaluated the maximum pushing forces the recommended distribution for
intermedium jacking stations are as follows:
