Abuse Information/Details:

North Carolina law requires any person who


suspects child maltreatment at a childcare
facility to report the situation to the Intake
Unit at Division of Child Development and
Early Education at 919-527-6335 or
1-800-859- 0829.

Reports can be made anonymously.

Examples include: Hitting, Bruising,
Symptoms: Bruises, black eyes, broken

Neglect abuse
The caregiver not meeting the childs needs,
either on purpose or accidentally.
Examples include: if a parent has no money
to take the child to the doctor and the child
gets really sick , not providing the child with
food or shelter
Symptoms: Child being dirty, Child Being
Hungry

Sexual abuse
Is the sexual act between the child
Examples Include: Rape, Somody
Symptoms: Fear of a person's , interest in
sexual acts

Emotional abuse
Is the behavior towards the child dealing
with his/her mental emotions
Examples include: Calling child out his/her
name, telling them they arent good enough
Symptoms: Child feeling down about
his/herself
